Well guys, other was supposed to be something like dove, venison, shellfish (shrimp, lobster, etc I think, didnt like bio class), fish, or something. Not all of the above.

Don't worry, I didn't vote. The integrity of the poll is still safe.

Venison and moose...those are both very good as well...haven't had either recently, but I sure wouldn't mind having some again soon! Maybe I need to go hunting :-)

I'm a hillbilly from Texas so I've never had moose. Is it comparable to anything? Is it pricey (obv. not killing your own, but at a restaurant/meat market/)?

It's been awhile since I've had it, but what I remember, it's tougher, texture-wise, than beef and venison, and it has a similar flavor to venison...moose isn't as moist as venison though, from what I recall...as for price, I have no idea, as all that I've had has been from a hunter's family...but, I would imagine it's on the pricier side, considering you can only take one moose in your life - yep, the regulations allow for one moose per lifetime, and if you hunt with a group and you get a moose, that one moose counts for everyone on the hunting trip...so, I'd imagine it's a higher-priced meat.

Me too. And even though venison is big around here, its not really for me.

LOL @ me thinking moose was some readily available meat that you could sub for chicken at Chili's or something.

Also, I would really hate to be a part of a moose hunting party and be asleep or going to the bathroom when the party bags our once-in-a-lifetime moose.

    To all carnivores:

If you haven't done so, treat yourself to a Brazilian steakhouse like Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil. It's a little pricey (retail is generally around $40/meal not counting drinks or dessert, but there are almost always some 2 for 1 coupons floating around for these places), but the quality and quantity of different type of meats you receive are amazing. It's a great once or twice a year must go for the carnivores.

Texas de Brazil is agreat place to try out different meats, and get a wide variety. I tried lamb there for the first time, wasnt a fan.
