Newman wasn't talking about the flipping and wrecking when he said that, he was talking about the first 150 laps and the "no shoving" rule and how boring it was playing follow the leader.

ohhh, then i completely missed the ball on that one haha

I was so sick that day and was watching in the ER was walking out as Newman was flipping and it got everyone's attention. That was a weird way to flip.

I'm glad of course that everyone walked away alright.

It was boring, NASCAR does need to fix that, but they won't. They do need to bump draft thats what Daytona and Dega are for.

And, the one thing while I'm not saying Ryan's and Mark's and Carl's in the spring, and Joey's at Dover, and plenty of other flips over the years weren't bad because they were. However, most cases its a lot safer to flip than to hit the wall head on. How many times did Dale Sr. flip that 3 car (Especially the daytona 500 in the last 90s forget the year when Irvan's hood went into the stands andit was Dale Sr, Irvan, and Dale Jarrett in the wreck) and it was a head on impact that took him and Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin. I know that was all before hans and all that but still.
