    Obama Quietly Kicking Out Lobbyists

More of that change everyone on here seems to abhor:

WASHINGTON - Hundreds, if not thousands, of lobbyists are likely to be ejected from federal advisory panels as part of a little-noticed initiative by the Obama administration to curb K Street's influence in Washington, according to White House officials and lobbying experts.

Resist the urge to write one of these responses:
    A) It's about time, what took him so long!
    B) This can't be true, I hate Obama too much!
    C) He's just "playing politics"!

Good to see this. Hopefully, he is not just kicking out lobbyists he disagrees with. Since he shut out Republicans in congress I'm sure he is just shutting out the Republican/conservative lobbyists. :)

theo - oh sorry, "it's too late" is basically the same as A) "it's about time" - no points for originality.

and mike isn't kicking out SOME lobbyists better than kicking out NO lobbyists?
Personally I'll take what I can get.

In any case thanks for keeping this forum partisan & predictable.

Oh goody now is your chance then, don't feel bad, pretty much any time I brought up a reasoned/logical/legal/scientific reason FOR gay marriage on that thread IT got ignored too:

I appreciate the honesty in your answers and they are revealing... I wasn't attacking you.
But there are some serious contradictions in your answers. No offense, but most of your answers on this topic appear to have a great deal of contradictions. You said that you were both "born straight" and that you "chose to be straight," it can't be both - it's one or the other.

You also say that being gay isn't a sin but being a homosexual is. Being a homosexual is: "A person who prefers emotional and sexual relations with the member of the same gender." The definition IS the action. Seperating the two is a usless exercise.

You say you know gay people who choose to be gay. Really? How many?
Why on gods green earth would they CHOOSE something that limits their rights, marginalizes them and frankly could put them in serious physical peril?

I know a lot of gay people too and the story almost always goes like this:
    1) felt different at puberty
    2) tried to be hetero as a teen, it didn't feel right
    3) eventually realized what was different about them
    4) gradually tried to accept it
    5) accepted it and lived a normal live with a partner (usually for a long time)

"Choice" never entered into the equation for any of them.

Your last point about sexual abuse and lesbians is a good one and yes believe you and I already know about that happening to people.
I think homosexuality comes from genes and/or a brain chemistry issue.
For most gays they are born the way they are, when they hit puberty the brain fires it's synapse a certain way and they realize how they feel.
In the case of some sexually abused girls I think those synapse get "scrambled" (for lack of a better word) and the brain reacts by being confused & finding all men repulsive.
It's also why sexually abused girls also often times have "little girl" voices well into adulthood. Their brains are "stuck" (again - for lack of better word.)

HOWEVER - sexually abused girls notwithstanding.... there are a lot of gay people out there. Gay people who -whether you think so or not- were born with the brain chemistry to be gay. No matter what they do or what they try to change about themselves they will be gay. God made them that way and who are we to say what HE makes is wrong.

PS - I'd also watch how you swing around lingo like "christian morals" - there are PLENTY of christians who read the same bible you do, never miss a sunday service and have zero problem with gay marriage.
