panini cards all seem to me. It lacks of game photo. Most of the cards only have the "player image". Not real game action photo that makes me don't want to buy their cards (or even collect). And their insert cards are more like subset card. No "wow" factor to me. It is lucky that they get a good class of rookies to support this year. Otherwise, Kobe auto is the only hit in all products

Yeah I'll miss some of the products, but change has come (it's inevitable) and it doesn't solve anything pouting about it. There's enough negative in this market as it is. If you truly love it, just let it go............
imo Panini has done well. Their upcoming products look even more promising. It's tough to be the change in a market that anticipates certain products. It's gotten so bad that I've seen people knock Panini for stuff that UD and Topps lived off of. My only concern is that they're the only one for Bkb. The lack of competition may actually be hurting them more because it gives collectors no other options, thus furthering the disgust.Last edited by cgb_orl; 12-30-2009 at 12:17 PM.

I agree, I feel the same way about their base cards. But this still is their FIRST year so maybe next season it will be better. Hopefully, they learn from their mistakes. But, I HIGHLY doubt I would EVER buy a case of Panini basketball cards. It's just not worth it. I honestly hate most of their Kobe autos. They have him sign on dark areas in the card. Or the autograph isn't sharp and looks crappy.

If anyone is seriously saying Panini's patch cards are good they are CRAZY. Panini has FLOODED the market with Patch cards to the point where you can pick up 3 CLR Patches of a current star for $5 on ebay!
Al Horford 3 Color /25 for 99 cents? That is what UD's jersey cards sold for...

Amare 3 Color /50 for $2.15?

A 4 Color, 6 Break patch of Dwight Howard /50 for $10?

Don't even get me started on Panini's manufactured patches...

Thats okay my friend...because upper deck/topps/fleer cards will RETAIN their value. These garbage Panini cards will be worth diddly squat.

I think its cool they have the PATCH only cards like that.
As long as the AUTOs retain their value, which they will, Im happy.
I get bored with Patch only cards no matter how nice, RC AUTO FIEND ON MINES! LOL
The sick 3 color patch breaks with AUTOs are going for crazy on the bay:

I am a huge SP Authentic fan as it was (In my eyes of course
) the best product for the price... Now, every auto is a sticker. The only good thing is I can catch up on my sets, the bad thing is no new sets... Sad indeed.

Could that be because you have collectors such as yourself that are simply refusing to buy/bid on them? Not only refuse, but evangelize why others shouldn't as well? Nothing personal, but it is a serious question. If nothing they do will ever be good enough, that's at least one less bidder and that's the only thing that drives Ebay prices.
Besides, I couldn't tell you the last time I sold a veteran patch for a nice amount. And I have over 3000 FB. Don't even get me started on jersey cards. Some other company(s) destroyed the GU market way before Panini did. Couple that with the lack of low-end collectors and that leaves the hobby with people that don't want a card unless they can brag about it.Last edited by cgb_orl; 12-31-2009 at 11:12 AM.
