not 10K try 50K and i bite my tongue because, i am trying so hard to be positive but i know more than i want to know.

That almost seems like a joke or something $10k-50k. Maybe it's just me but I'm more then happy just belonging to SCF. SCF has done more for my collection and given me a chance to meet other fellow collectors then I would have ever imagined. Being a musician I know it's not always about the gear you bring to the table but more about the person who's playing. So pretty much your ticket in depends on your bank account? Naw I'd rather be a part of SCF with the real heart and soul collectors. Maybe it's just me but I really like it when someone pulls a big name victory rc and is really happy about it. I'm guessing you don't get that in the Diamond Club. I just think as collectors we need to slow down and enjoy the hobby in healthy moderation. I hope I didn't offend anyone, all I'm saying is this site is more then good enough for me even if it's just the Crosby victory rc of trading sites or clubs or whatever.

One of my favorite photos from the Chicago DC event. Secret musings between Al Muir of Beckett and Karvin from UD. Wonder what was said? Anyone wanna try the "fill in the caption on this one" game?

Karvin looks guilty in this one, like I caught him!

Like 6:57, or 6:58, the VERY end, the big group shot.

Maybe I'll do a post later with some more images from the Chicago DC event as, from what everyone else in the club said, it was still the best one to date.

They had Lebron at the first one but overall, everyone said they had the most fun at the Chicago event.

I think this is disgusting!!! Honestly a bunch of rich collectors who can afford to bust a tonne of product gathering together in an elitist group! I can bust box and box and box of Upper Deck product but what do I receive from them? Nothing but long frustrating waits for redemption's and damaged cards pulled from boxes. Probably spent easily several thousand on boxes of Upper Deck hockey products over the past 2 years. Maybe Upper Deck should think about the average collector more than just their big spenders. I know it is important for Upper Deck to make sure they have big spenders paying their bills but they need the little ones to keep themselves in business as well. At the big fall card show in Vancouver all Upper Deck gave away was a grab bag with 2 packs of 08/09 UD Series 2 plus a few other things that I can't even remember what they were.

i'm surprised people are so surprised about special treatment given to preferred clients. it's no different in any business. the customer is always valued but the biggest ones are always watched out for more closely.

is it wrong that people who pay more get to fly first class while other people get coach? or people who pay more drive a Corvette while someone else drives an Impala? they're all spending money with the same company.

Couldn't agree more. I mean.... is it fair that some collectors get access to stuff that the rest of us don't? I guess not. But we'd all be very foolish to thing that fairness is more important than money to Upper Deck, or any other big company out there.

    Marketing concept:

    Pareto's Rule:

The concept that 80% of a brand's sales come from 20% of it's customers.

That explains the Diamond Club. Reward the few people that makes UD survive.

Exactly. And that's a safe way to play it. Then you only need to keep the 20% happy.... and you'll never have to worry about business taking a big dip. If you can keep half of the rest of your customers happy (or not frequent enough to be upset) then 90% of your business is safe.
