Did not get much Red Wings' items done as they did not have a morning shootaround as they played the night before in Edmonton.

Went to the team hotel and caught most of the guys that took a taxi to the arena.

Funny thing happened as the players huddled up by the lobby. Henrik Zetterberg took a back entrance and grabbed a cab. Pavel Datsyuk took the side entrance and all the hounds went for him. Then about 7-8 guys including Holmstom, Erickson, Miller, Osgood and Lidstrom came out of the Main Entrance while Datsyuk was being swarmed. The other players just had a big smirk on their faces. Tried for Lidstrom but he used the I'm on the phone routine.

Hey fellow Canucks fan.
Holy Cow, you got some amazing pickups! I am going hounding against Calgary. Do u know where I can meet players on the Flames? Like, where do the players get off of the bus, to get into the arena? I heard that it was close to gate 9.
Or, do u know which hotel the Flames will stay at? And what time their morning skate will be at?

Thinking that this was probably my last chance at getting the Canucks this season, I headed to the airport to get them before they boarded their flight for Chicago. Almost everybody touched a pen going in. Only Luongo and Kesler kept away from the 10 or so people wanting to get autographs.

December 11, 2010 - Vancouver Canucks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Morning Skate @ GM Place

It was Markus Naslund Retirement Night and I had been waiting for this day since they announced it as part of the 40 Year Anniversary celebrations. He's the only Canuck in the West Coast Express era that I've never gotten an autograph from. I've had previous encounters with him signing, but he always skipped me for some reason.


Went to the arena early as the Canucks organization scheduled the unveiling of The Canucks Hall of Heroes @ 10 a.m. that day. None of the Canucks signed going in and somehow Markus Naslund slipped by everybody by not driving into the underground parking lot and instead went through the main entrance and used the street parking.

A few hounds decided to risk it and wait at the main entrance together with all the puck bunnies. I tried going back and forth and finally got one success. I got Mike Smith of the Lightning to sign a trading card as he got off the cab. No other Lightning players showed up as they had played the night before in Edmonton.

Went back to the main entrance and Naslund's parents came out. Then Markus finally came out with Mattias Ohlund. Everyone rushed in and he signed on and off telling everyone that he had to leave. Still signed and posed for pictures until he finally got to his SUV. Was able to snag one 8x10 in all that madness

None of the Canucks stopped after the morning skate. None of the Lightning players showed up for their optional skate besides Mike Smith. Decided not to come back pre-game as I didn't have much for the Lightning players anyway.

December 11, 2010 - Trevor Linden Autograph Signing

HP Store Downtown Vancouver

The HP Store opened their first ever store in Canada on December 4th. As part of their opening celebration, they brought in Trevor Linden for a meet and greet with the Canucks faithful the following weekend. The signing was scheduled for 12 noon to 2 p.m. I show up @ noon and the signing had already started. Maybe 20 people ahead of me, mostly autograph hounds. He signed whatever was put in front of him and after that gave an extra HP 8x10 handout to boot. He wasn't too happy with all the hounds showing up but he still signed away all the items that everyone had. I was done in 20 minutes.
