Understood - nothing wrong with some good debate to stimulate the mind :)
With that being said, I do feel that you put words in my mouth. You stated, "ur too ignorant to understand that ron artest had no business going into the stands."
I never advocated him going into the stands, get that straight.
BTW - I'm glad that you attempted to use proper spelling and "grammer," but that word correctly spelled would be "grammar." ;)

no i dont think it is harse. if i was to punch someone in the face then it lead to a riot i would be in jail. All these guys got was suspended i hope detriot police press charges on them just because they are rich doesnt mean they should be exempt from going to jail for the same stuff we would go to jail for. What wallace did lead to a riot it i was artest i would have gone into the stands too. its about time fans learn they cant throw stuff at the players and get away with it im glad artest went into the stands and punched people

Im a Spurs fan, so I can be fair on this :p
Artest's past should be irrelevant in this. The foul really wasnt even that hard, and Wallace basically grabs him by the neck and shoves him backwards, then when things are starting to calm down he throws his wristband at him. Wallace certainly didnt handle it well, and I thought Artest handled it great up until the cup incident.

Thanks for the heads up, starbury03.
I think David Stern is all about the money. So I think he is going to take the side of the fans & making sure they keep feeding the NBA bankroll. That's why the guys who went after the fans got hit the hardest. (ie. I think the Indiana suspension are a bit harsh.)Last edited by LakersMC; 11-21-2004 at 07:10 PM.

David Stern has set a precedent with these suspensions. It might convince some players to think before they act. Maybe some players who might have problems controlling their anger might want to go to anger mangagement classes now.
I do hope also that any fan that was involved in that mess the other night does jail time. They have enough video tape to identify many of the culprets.

Wow, and I thought a potential 30 games for Artest was too much. But, this is something that should be expected, they needed a scapegoat in all this to save face.

Although I don't advocate what went on, that is way out of line for David Stern. Dan Lebatard wrote a good article explaining how David Stern is more concerned about keeping advertising in the league.

You are probably right that Stern is concerned with advertising dollars but I do not think he was out of line with the suspensions. He is also concerned about the imagine the league portrays and in this day and age their image is at an all time low.
