    1) JamesOn Curry is one of my friends...he is the 6th man for Oklahoma St. as a freshman (top scorer in North Carlina History as a fresh. soph. junior. senior. in high school, avaraged 40pts as a senior)

    2) Manny Ramirez/ Jim Thome/ Richie Sexston played AAA baseball in my town (burlington) as a Burlington Indian

    3) Tory Holt grew up here...

there are probably more...but i dont know...

oh, one more thing..my 3rd period teacher (Mrs. Robertson)..her neice is dating Marshall Faulk...he sent her an auto'd GU jersey of his for her son...its awsome...her neice works as a co-producer for some show on ESPN. what a great job.

Dave Kingman (former Cubbies HR hitter) went to my old high school, and Andy Pafko lives down the street!

It's too bad to hear that Mussina has become a bad signer. Earlier in his Baltimore career he was a great ttm auto to get. I guess New York went to his head!

I used to live fairly close to the McGwires (yes THOSE McGwires...lol). My brother went to school with Dan for awhile, nice guy. There is a resteraunt (was still there back in 97 when I went for a visit) on Foothill Blvd down close to Alta Loma that is just a little tiny place that serves breakfast only. Mark gave them auto'ed pics to put up and he would go in and tell them he wanted to eat breakfast, so they would close the place down just for him :\

Snoop Dog's mom also lived fairly close, as did Shirley Hemphil (What's Happening). There were/are other famous folks who lived in the area, not sure if they are around there anymore. (Claremont, CA area)

    Peace~

oh, and some local athletes near me:
Glenn Murray's hometown is about a half hour away, J.P. Bordeleau (former blackhawk) lives in town, and some crosby dude lives around here too but I've never met him in person. :)

Fritz - I sometimes see him but I don't really want to bother him. 2 years ago, Robin Williams was passing out toothbrushes for Halloween!!

I just got this new job at a supermarket back in the deli section. The first hour i was there a Philadelphia Phillies player walked up and asked for a pound of american cheese. I forget his name.

I live in the next town over from Randall Cunningham among other Eagles players.

And i guess i could mention that Kobe Bryant is right over the bridge in philly. I live in New Jersey.

A little off topic but i used to work at a hotel. The first week i started Carrot Top was staying there.

Fred Biletnikoff and Mike McCoy both are from Erie. Mike is the chaplain for the Braves now. Played basketball w/him Sunday eves at high school 18-19 yrs ago. Decent moves nice touch for an old, big I mean BIG guy. I coached Biletnikoff's niece and nephew. Eric Hicks and Bob Sanders are in the NFL now, I know their families well. Both went to Cathedral Prep here in Erie. I think they were both on different CP state champ teams. Multi-Olympic Medalist Bruce Baumgartner lives 20 mins away in Edinboro. I was in the same 55-meter indoor race @ Pitt vs. an Olympic 4X100 alternate (forgot his name shortly after he kicked my ™™™™™). Myron Brown T-Wolves pick, and actually played a little in NBA, was a good friend at Slippery Rock. Him, C Russell, Billy Johnson, Kevin Jones, Irvin Glaze, Darren Mayes, Shannon Pulliam went to the Nat'l semis and lost to W K U Hilltoppers back in the day. Myron and Billy were D2 All-America. Myron plays in Italy still. Saw him at Scorcher's here in Erie when he came to see Shannon- he yelled across the bar- Hey, I know you! And I thought, "S--t, you know me!" he bought me a drink and everything. My aunt taught him Information Systems at SRU. All these guys are really just like others until WE treat them any different. I recall snubbing some of the more famous guys at Cleveland and Pittsburgh hotels when looking for autos, and the more famous dudes actually get jealous and ASK if you want their autograph! I asked Bernie Williams and Gary Sheffield one time, "Who are you guys?" I really think that they never felt lower. Eric Munson took BP after a game one time here as an Erie Seawolf with me and my buddy, a clubhouse boy. Also, Tim Raines son, Tim Jr was on the visiting club when he got called up to the Orioles and my buddy got to keep his bat as a clubhouse tip. It is a ROCK RAINES model! His dad's as wellas his G/U! Freakin' awesome!
