Quality or quantity?
Just wondering what peoples opinions are on their PC.
Do you guys prefer quality over quantity or a bigger and more extensive PC?
Thanks.

Its funny, Tuukkatime and myself just had this discussion a few days ago.
I personally would rather give up a few cards to get a bigger card, so I would have to go with quality as quality is usually easier to flip for something else.

Quality...I used to have a ridiculous amount of Miller cards, but they didn't really mean much to me, however what I have left after sell offs are appreciated more.

I agree with the consensus so far, quality over quanity for sure.

I collect Montreal Canadiens cards so it is all about the QUANTITY for me. I appreciate my quality cards but when you are on the hunt for that many cards you have to appreciate the lowliest of base cards too.

I'm one who likes to strike a balance. You don't get nearly 500 Carey Price cards if you're focusing solely on quality...unless you've got really deep pockets. I have some awesome cards in my collection and I have a lot of inserts/parallels/base in my collection. On the spreadsheet they're all equal. In the deliberations over what goes in the display case this month, some are more equal than others. LOL
I've reached a point where I'm not going to be all that willing to spend more than a buck on inserts. By the time you get the shipping factored in, for the 4 inserts I could get a GU or (if I'm lucky) an auto. So that aspect would lead in the direction of quality I guess. That said, if anybody wants to trade me their base/inserts/parallels I am of course all for it, but unless there's memorabilia or an auto I'm very reluctant to do much buying.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I used to think I could do both, now I'm out of room and money and I'm having to sort and scan 1,500-2,000 cards and hopefully recuperate most of my money back on eBay. so yeah, quality........

Haha, this debate is everywhere!
I think you can do both. Everyone wants to have those nice pieces but at the same time it's kind of nice when you have a case filled with the small cards too. I guess as long as you only collect one or two players, its usually fine.

I am living proof that you cannot do this!!! I collect a bunch of players, but none of them religiously, and I don't really collect any of the newer guys, other than the odd Crosby or Price. My problem, and I do have one, is that I see a neat jersey or autograph, I win it, and then I want the rest of the set. Plus dead Canadiens' autos are PRICEY. Plus anything Team Canada related I'm a sucker for......and so on and so forth.......
