Well, most of the other teams have one, so how about a thread for the Edmonton Oilers?
Talk all things Oilers about the 2011-12 season here!

So, aside from the obvious RNH and Hall who have impressed me, there are a few things that I have been very happy with so far.
Faceoffs-While the Nuge is struggling, Belanger and Horcoff have been excellent, and the team is no longer getting killed on the draws by 30% every night.
Magnus Paajarvi-He looks faster and stronger this year. Once he finds his scoring touch he will be very dangerous
Ladislav Smid- Had an injury riddled season last year, but this year he has been excellent so far. He has been very dependable, and hasn't made many mistakes. Great positioning, stick work, and has been physical.
Disappointing?
Omark turnovers- He seems to be trying to make passes that just aren't there every game. He was admittedly better yesterday against the Preds, but still needs to be better.
Cam Barker- Follows the scouting report to a tee: No heart, no passion, no effort.
That's all I have to say so far. Hopefully the Oilers improve over the course of the year, and the young guys continue to develop.

Oilers with 2 tough losses in a row, both against teams they haven't beaten in a while. Flames with 2 late 3rd period goals, and Heatley ties the Wild game with 0.5 seconds left. Brutal...

Great win against the Rangers. The team is playing some pretty great defence, and goalies have been excellent so far. The Nuge has been just as advertised, if not better.
Big game against the Canucks on Tuesday. We should have won our last game against them, but the mistakes in that game were costly. Hopefully they can keep the strong play up and take a win from the Canucks(and finally a divisional win).
BTW, I feel like I'm talking to the mirror here. Where are all of the Oilers fans??

Tough win against the Canucks, but the came through and didn't blow the game this time. Khabby was fantastic once again, as was the kid line. Potter continues to surprise everyone which is great for the team.
A couple scary moments when Whitney went down with a knee injury and when Gagner's ankle got sore. Hopefully both aren't too bad.

Oilers are looking really good this year. Great tandem of goalies in net along with some offense and defense. Potentially could make the playoffs. Omark getting benched sucks for me though as I have him on my fantasy hockey league team. He played really well for them last year once he was called up.

It's been a plesent surprise, for sure. Not sure how long they can keep this pace up...... but I'm enjoying it while it lasts (unfortunatly my free Centre Ice preview is over.... so I'm not enoying it quite as much anymore)

My first look at them will be Thursday. I'm on the RNH is overrated train. He can prove me wrong in a few years ;)
Overall the team is trending upwards. Don't think they're a playoff team this year but they will be soon. Their D has someone done a fine job to start the year but they're going to get exposed soon. And no way do I see Khabby keeping up this pace all year.
Having Taylor Hall on your team obviously helps. The dude is the best first overall pick since Crosby.

Smyth with two goals, Nuge with two assists, Oilers win, Andy trolls.
All is right in the world
