His chances at the Hall are slim. He's had a couple good seasons, but how many more does he have in him?

Doubtful. He was such a late bloomer and didn't really establish himself as a #1 goalie until well into his 30's. That's not to diminish what he has accomplished but the Hall of Fame is for guys that were consistently excellent for a very long period of time.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Exactly.
Last year he put up one of the best seasons a goalie has ever had. If he managed to get another 2 or 3 years like that..... Stanley Cup and all..... he'd suddenly be in Ken Dryden territory, where he'd be regarded as a spectacular goaltender, with crazy good numbers / Championships..... and likely gets in despite the small sample size.
Hands up if you think that Thomas has 2 or 3 years of 2.00 (or better) GAA, .930 (or better) SV%, 30+ Wins, and a Stanley Cup left in him. (my hand is still down)

He is a Mike Vernon type player.
Verny has 2 mugs and a Conn Smyth and is not in the Hall yet. Thomas has 1 mug and a Conn Smyth. Thomas needs another Cup to be considered as good a goaltender as Verny.
There are many very good netminders that may not make it in, Barrasso, Beezer, Verny, Felix. Thomas is in this category at the moment.

I would take every one of those guys before Thomas.
It's funny, John Tavares is 21, was drafted in 09, is starting only his third NHL season and everyone is crapping all over him because he hasn't single-handedly turned the Islanders into a contender yet.
Thomas, on the other hand, is 37, was drafted in 94 and is starting his 6th season as a regular goalie in the league with a very good team. He's had 1 amazing season and 1 good season, other than that he's done very little, yet there are people convinced he's destined for the hall.
There's just no understanding people sometimes.
