If your were a Winnipeg fan you wouldn't even be making this argument. I'm a Red Wing Fan and nobody in the West travels more than them Period !!

I don't give a damn if they have to live in an Airport to win the Stanley Cup.

Yeah...ask anyone that hasn't won the cup (or already has for that matter), and I am sure they could care less how many flights/distance they travel if it means they get a chance at the cup.
As for costs...owners can afford...they are doing just fine $$$.

If that is so, why do so many Detroit fans/players/management/ownership want Detroit moved to the East? I mean, if travel matters so little, why do the Wings constantly whine, complain and scream that they should be in the East?

Things that make you go hmm...

They want to move to the east cause you only play opposite conference teams 1-2 times a year, much less travel. Duh. Look at some of the red wings rounds of playoffs, one year 3 west coast opponents to get to stanley cup. thats crazy. I don't care if another team has to do it. Detroit has done it way more than anyone else the past 10+ years

Same as Columbus and Nashville - Game times...and travel costs, but like I said before...they can afford it. But the fan base is constantly subject to late start times because of the West Coast matchups throughout the season. As fan, that sucks. I hate it when the Sabres head out west that 1 or 2 times a year, and have 10pm games. Harsh.

I don't want the Red Wings moved to the East. Why would I? Other than the Pens and now the Bruins, the East offers little competition.

    Don't assume.

And I hate it when Vancouver heads east for 2 weeks and all the games start before I'm even off work. Why is Detroit's problem so much worse than anyone else's?
Because they think they're better for having a team first? Sure sounds like it to me.

I didn't assume a thing. I also didn't say you necessarily want them moved, just the vast majority of fans, players, coaches, management and ownership.
There is nothing to assume about that. Detroit's supporters are very, very vocal on this point.
I don't know how you, personally, not wanting it means anything when just about every other Red Wings member/supporter is up in arms every year about it.

Perhaps instead of telling me not to assume things, you should re-read posts to make sure you know what you've read.

Detroit and Columbus are the only teams in the Western Conference who are on Eastern time zone.

I like option 4 the best. The others are fine too except #3...maybe it's just because I couldn't picture St Louis playing in the "Southeast division"

Yup, and Columbus actually has a better argument to move to the East since they're actually farther East.
Just don't tell the Red Wings, they can't seem to follow the logic, since it has nothing to do with who'd had a team longer.
