Awesome, awesome stuff. Love the Hull, and Berry and Davis are two of the nicest guys in the TTM game.

Awesome day with two nice returns.
Guy LaFleur
Another one of the best to ever skate on the ice. Very nice return from this HOFer and five time Stanley Cup winner. He also happens to be a great TTM signer too.

Chuck Wepner
Lightning fast return! Sent 2/8, received 2/13.
A heavyweight boxer with a colorful story, Wepner is probably best remembered for his 1975 fight against Muhammad Ali in which he knocked Ali down. Sylvester Stallone was watching the fight and claimed it was his inspiration to write Rocky. In a 14 year career, Wepner also got in the ring with plenty of other notable heavyweights like George Foreman, Sonny Liston, Ernie Terell and others.
I couldn't find any photos hi-res enough to print out at 8x10, so I sent 5x7s. I sent six of them, two each of three different photos. I did a favor for a friend of mine and asked Chuck to sign them for both of us so my friend would get three and I would get three. I've never done that before but it more or less worked out this time. I also included a check for $20 because I was asking him to sign so many items. He sent the check back! See note below for details.
Chuck used the silver marker I sent and signed 5 out of the six photos (he kept one) and wrote a nice note on the index card I had included for protection in the envelope.
Wepner vs. Ali

He signed the first one in silver then went over it with black... and used black on the second one.

Wepner vs Foreman (Chuck kept one of these)

This note references the legendary Ringside Cafe in Jersey City, NJ which I talked about in my letter. It has long been a mecca for boxing and many of it's colorful characters and fighters. The note reads:
"Thanks for the check but I don't take any money. But maybe I'll see you sometime at the Ringside. Mario Casta (the owner of Ringside) is a great friend of mine"

A nice In Person success from this past Friday night.
Larry Holmes
The Easton Assassin! I was passing through Pennsylvania on business and decided to visit Champ's Corner, the restaurant and bar owned by the former heavyweight champ in his hometown of Easton, PA. I had called the day before to ask what the chances were that Larry would actually be there on Friday and was told that he would be there all night because they were having a Valentine's party. Well, he was indeed there all night... walking around, greeting everyone, joking, and owning the dance floor with his wife. Larry was incredibly nice, willing to answer questions and talk about his career and take photos with anyone who wanted. I brought a boxing glove and he was also happy to sign it. When he started signing he just kept writing and writing and writing... so I knew this would be a good one.
he signed:
Larry Holmes
Peace
2012
75(total career fights) - 69(wins) - 6(losses) - 44K(wins by knockout)
1978-1985 (years he was heavyweight champion)
Peace (yes, he wrote Peace twice, but it was late at night and we had all had a few drinks)

Larry was a great champion who I feel is under appreciated in the history books. He sort of bridged the gap between the Ali era and the Tyson era. (He beat Ali in 1980 and lost to Tyson in 1988). Anyway, it was great to meet such an incredible fighter.

Dick Butkus
I got an RTS the first time, so I sent it out again with "Donation Enclosed" written on the envelope and it worked. Nice inscription, which I haven't seen before from Dick... "to Brett, with Friendship". Pretty cool. I'm happy about the HOF inscription too, which he doesn't always do.
Also in the envelope was a donation receipt card. I guess the money goes to his charity. Front and back of the card are below, just in case anyone cares to see it. Looks like that's his son pictured on the front with him?
