Thanks guys. I love the way it came out too. I'm a huge boxing fan and Jake is currently the oldest living former champion. I think he used to sign TTM but I sent to him last year and never saw a return.
I love sending 8x10s. Gives the athlete more room for a big beautiful signature, inscriptions, etc. Plus they just look great. Right now they're all in a binder but someday I'm going to have a sports wall with signed photos of all these legends.
Thanks man!

Willie Davis
Willie's always been an excellent, fast, and generous signer. I Sent him a very nice letter and an 8x10. He added a SB 1&2 inscription to my photo which I asked for (he was on the Packers teams that won both games) and added not one but TWO of his own 8x10s! Very cool of him. Willie has become a super successful businessman since retiring from football, so I think he doesn't mind spending the money to send his own additional photos. Extremely generous.
The first photo is the one I sent, the second two are the ones he added.

Raymond Berry
Amazing return loaded with extras from one of the greatest receivers ever to play the game. Johnny Unitas may not have been quite as successful if Berry wasn't his go-to guy. Raymond played on the Colts from 1955-1967 and in his entire career only dropped TWO passes and fumbled ONCE!
I sent Raymond this 8x10 which he signed beautifully and added 58-59 NFL Champs inscription which I requested.

He added this HOF 8x10, and inscribed it again.

Also included this postcard which has a photo of him catching a ball during his playing days, then him being carried on the shoulders of his players during his coaching days. As their head coach, he led the Patriots to Super Bowl XX (they lost to the Bears).

And a custom card...

And a promo sheet for his DVD with a very nice note. The cool thing is he acknowledged my letter, so I guess it matters sometimes. Berry usually sends some extras (the card, the DVD promo sheet, index cards) but to get the extra 8x10 and postcard is really nice. I chalk it up to my letter.

I was thinking about it... a lot of the guys I've been getting back recently are the "easy" or "guaranteed" signers, but the truth of it is that a lot of these older guys just happen to be wonderful TTM signers, and very grateful and nice people. As a collector who really appreciates this stuff (as we all do) it's just nice to know that, unlike some of today's millionaire athletes, there are some truly nice guys out there who appreciate what they've got.

John "Mule" Miles
Negro Leaguer (Chicago American Giants, 1946-1949) famous for hitting 11 home runs in 11 straight games and another one of the kindest, most generous TTM signers. Sent him a five dollar donation with four custom photos and offered that he keep two, which he did. He also sent back a very nice hand-written letter and three index cards with quotes. Also included a bio sheet with photocopied signature (so I won't include it here). 89 years old. I'm thinking this return is going to be the kick in the butt I needed to start my Negro League TTM project which I've been putting off too long.

John "Mule" Miles does do a great job signing TTM. I think he may be one of the guys that really enjoys signing for us.

Bobby Hull
Love this return! These really look great and Bobby inscribed the hell out of the first one without asking. I grew up in Hartford, CT and the Whalers were a big part of my childhood so I had to send him a photo from his short stint with the team, even though it was before I was born. Also, being a Blackhawks legend, I had to get him on a photo from his Chicago days too.

That Hull return is awesome!! Congrats!! I also love the Whalers. I wear a knit pull over hat of them everyday in the winter, haha.

haha, pretty sure that is the one I have. Green w/ the little pom pom on top, haha. Every time I am wearing it someone says "nice hat man". Lots of love for the Whalers still!
