I don't know what your depth is at RW but the one thing Kassian has proven here is that he is NHL ready. We all figured he'd be in the starting lineup here next season.

I just got in.
What in the H.E. Double Hockey Sticks are the Canucks doing? This may rank up there with Kordic for Courtnall.

I'm not sure why we keep talking about Nash being traded in the offseason...like I said, he didn't demand a trade, but he wants to win. The Jackets were giving him a shot to go elsewhere, and he generally wanted to stay in Columbus.
Why? I don't know. Obviously, it's a poorly run organization. But that's why everybody loves Nash.

Everyone here is always mad at Regier, but it stems from a large section in the middle of his career as GM here where he pretty much gutted this team with personnel mismanagement and awful drafting.
I will step back enough to say that this is probably his best deadline day, ahead from bringing Zubrus in for the Cup run. Campbell to SJ is up there too but that was more of a no-brainer.
Like I said in my other post, I think we were all just hoping Buffalo was going to be sellers (Boyes, Roy, Leopold) on the way to being a better team next year instead of a bubble team this year.

Not according to Howson just now. He just threw Nash under the bus saying that Nash approached him asking to be traded.
What a team eh?

Until Kassian comes in and bolls over people and score a few points. It is a loss for Vancouver.
Hodgson's leadership is unmatchable as a young kid. Resembles a lot and I mean a lot like Linden.
Kassian is a Lucic comparable or old Bertuzzi (when he was good lol).
I rather have Hodgson. We want toughness, but it doesn't mean we should move Hodgson to do so.

Wow, Gragnani sure isn't holding back on his thoughts of going to Vancouver during an interview with TSN. Basically he said that once he heard he was headed to Vancouver, he was excited and was frustrated in Buffalo. He also said he's looking forward to leaving. Unlike other players, I don't think you could sense much/any dissapointment in him during the interview shortly after being traded.

My thoughts on the Canucks today.
1 - Sami Pahlsson for Taylor Ellington, 2 4th round picks:
Excellent trade. I have no idea who Taylor Ellington is, other than the newest member of the Blue Jackets. Pahlsson has Stanley Cup experience can play center or wing on any of the top 3 lines. The addition of Pahlsson only makes them stronger down the middle.
2 - Zack Kassian and Marc-Andre Gragnani for Cody Hodgson and Alexander Sulzer:
This one left me scratching my head at first. I have since been able to justify it to a degree, but I do think Van could have got more for Hodgson, plain and simple. With that said, the deal does make some sense:
1 - The addition of Pahlsson meant Vancouver had 6 natural centers.
2 - I've long felt Vancouver at some point was going to make a decision between Hodgson and Shroeder.
3 - Gragnani is an upgrade on Sulzer, I think.
4 - While Hodgson has huge offensive upside and Kassian has little NHL experience, I think the Canucks believe they can put the puck in the net through the playoffs this time. Kassian is a big presence that I think can walk right into the lineup and turn guys like Weiss and Bitz into depth players instead of starters.
but like I said, I think they could have got more. However, I do believe this is going to be one of those trades you can't fully judge for 4-5 years.

Then why didn't he wave his NTC when they asked him to?
Howson is an idiot...just look at some of his other deals he's done. If Nash approached him for a trade, wouldn't he have waived his NTC?
