I would be TICKED if I am CBJ. However, Murray could be a good fit for them, since they have nothing, and they can build defence first. Just sucks for them. Good for Edmonton, but still.

I'm thinking Jackets will take Grigorenko, I think they addressed defence more than they did offence when they signed Wisniewski and traded for Johnson. Now it's time to give Nash a centerman to play with, and maybe that would influence him to stay in Columbus.

Somebody on twitter has already suggested to "trade Ryan Suters rights for the #1 , we`re sure he`ll sign with you guys " thus making a Yakupov-Radulov pairing possible

With Columbus' track record of drafting Russians in the first round - I would not be surprised to see them pass on Grigorenko. I don't think they would have passed on Yakupov (he was a clear-cut #1) but the #2 prospect is a little more up for debate.
IMO - Grigorenko is the 2nd best player available, but I wonder if they might opt for Murray, or Forsberg, instead.

People here in Columbus are FURIOUS. Jackets have by far the worst record in the league, then the #1 pick goes to the Oilers, a Canadian team, for the third year in a row.
General thought here in Ohio is that the lottery needs to be finished. First, honestly, who is to say that it's not rigged? There's no proof that it's not. Especially when the same team has the #1 pick three years in a row. It'd be no surprise that the NHL would give preferrential treatment (Pittsburgh anyone?). The worst team should have the #1 pick, the second worst team should have the #2 pick, and so one. It's that simple.
I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it's awfully shady. Besides, lotteries are stupid. Why not just give the worst team the first pick in the first place, especially if you're not going to give every team a chance?

Edmonton got lucky. NJ got bumped up 4 spots last year too. Pittsburgh had the worst record, so no biggy, same with the oilers. But with such a wide margin, CBJ should've been 1st or had a better chance at it than 50/50

Great the Oilers need more scoring and even less defense. I would be totally embarrassed if I was working for that organization, one more scorer isn't going to fix their awful defensive core and lackluster goaltending. They might be picking 1st for the next 10 years.

I agree with everything, and I'm sick to my stomach the Oilers are going to be stronger again ( hate the Oilers from old Islander Dynasty days ), but there has to be some sort of lottery. The lottery was the only thing that kept teams from bringing in their minor players and completely throwing hockey games over the last month. Altho I do not think Nail is the next Crosby, when the next Crosby does come along, do teams all deliberately fight for last ?
Again sympathies to Columbus fans , this does suck, I know how relieved I was we didn't lose in the Tavares lottery.

Yeah but the oilers would have nothing to celebrate, they have big draft pick parties because they can't get it done on the ice with the talent they have.
Who cares what is on paper on how they improved,it doesn't mean squat unless you've made it to the playoffs or have made a significant move up in the standings.
