Hard to establish any intent on that one for me. I thought Kennedy's hit on Grossman later in the game was worse. Malkin gets in that "must retrieve puck" mode. I don't think he meant to hit Grossman like that, I think he was more trying to get up a head of steam to pick up the puck behind the net. He seemed almost surprised he made contact with anyone.

Doesn't change the fact that Rinaldo at least deserved a game. Dirty play in an already out of control game. That's fine, he'll probably take some ridiculous penalty that'll lead to a Pens goal.

Seriously? "No intent?" Throwing an elbow up that catches a guy in the head and gives him a concussion is a thousand times worse then what Asham did and is just as bad as what Neal did. If it were Crosby every one in Pittsburgh would be crying.

And if Neal got 1 game for two head shots, and being a multiple repeat offender, then please tell me what rationale you are using to say that Rinaldo deserved one game for shoving a guy. Do you hear what you are saying?

To me, it looks like Malkin isn't extending that elbow, but rather trying to tuck his arm in and "get skinny" so that he can retrieve the puck. He does it about 23094832097 times a game, and it doesn't lead to him elbowing a bunch of people. I'm not saying Malkin doesn't play dirty, because sometimes he does. I just don't think this is one of those times. The league clearly doesn't think so either.

I think Neal should've gotten at least two games. I thought 1 was too light. And Rinaldo absolutely deserved a game. You can't cross-check a guy and then hit him in the face. And trust me, I hear what I'm saying.

Rinaldo deserved a game. Neal deserved 2 games and bed without dessert (he looked like a child) and Malkin, I don't think it was intentional. Asham got exactly what he deserved and, while I would LOVE to have him in Canucks jersey, Hartnell is a punk on any other team, including the Flyers.

Can't deny his ability to get inside Sid's head, though.

Hartnell is one of those guys who you absolutely HATE but would love if he was on YOUR team. I heard an interview with him today and he seems like a solid dude and funny guy....but as a Pens fan I hate his guts. If we pick him up during the offseason he'll be one of my favorites.

My mother in law talks to him (and a plethora of other NHLers) in the summers through her job and says Hartnell is one of the nicest people she's met.
Others who garner the same praise from her: Trevor Linden, Jarome Iginla, Shea Weber several others I can't think of.

Just cracked a box of BTP 10-11, and the first 2 packs had a Bryzgalov insert + GU. Not sure if that's a good or bad omen for a Pens fan.............
