Why all the hate?
Ok I made this thread wondering why Lebron James has so much hate toward him. Alot of people compare him to MJ, but do you think he wants to be compared to MJ? He could have gone to Chicago instead of the Heat but chose the Heat because of the fact he didn't want to be compared to MJ, because we all know there will never be another MJ, even Lebron knows that. Sure he didn't leave Cleveland on the right note, but why do people still hate him so much? Cleveland gave him almost nothing while he was there and he still brought them to a finals appearance. Why is it that most players can leave a team if they give him no help to go to a contender but Lebron can't do it? I'm sure this thread has been posted before but I've wondered this for awhile.
So why does Lebron still get so much hate?Last edited by wiggy3624; 04-23-2012 at 04:50 AM.

Well i think he made two stupid decisions, one "the decision". And then throwing oil on an already fiercely burning fire by saying they will not win one or two, three, four but like 8 titles or something.
He made a mockery out of himself by doing those things. Great players dont talk about how much they are going to win, great players let their actions on the court speak for themselves, and just win.
But i do agree with you on the Cleveland part, that organisation showed a lot of crocodile tears when he left, but they should have realised they gave him nothing but over the hill players to work with (Shaq, Jamison etc.)
But i will stil enjoy watching the Heat play, and cant wait to see a Bulls-Heat series and possibly a Heat-Thunder finals. In the end its all about good basketball, and everybody can say all they want but you cant deny that Lebron and the Heat dont play good ball.

Cleveland should've thanked LeBron for his time with the Cavs. He led them to a couple Finals appearances, they made the playoffs in almost every year he was with the squad, he definitely gave them major exposure around the world since LeBron is a worldwide famous athlete. LeBron was the perfect example of " What do I have in my backpack? Just the City of Cleveland and my teammates." I hope he wins a championship this year and I think they have a great chance like last year. LeBron is an amazing player, he has his ups and downs like every other athlete, It's just normal.

I do believe he wants to be compared to Jordan, actually.
Plus, the reason he gets so much hate is because he brings it on himself. He acts and wants to be considered the best, yet he's far from it. He gave himself the nickname "King" James, just to boost his ego.
Last, the 'decision' show. If you didn't hate him before that, you probably did after it.

So who is the best in the league then? Maybe you meant of all time, not sure which.
Lebron has every physical tool to be better than Jordan, he just lacks intangibles.

1) There will always be a contingent of fans who hate great players, unless that player is on their favorite team. Jordan was hated in some cities, too - in some ways it's just a sign of respect.
2) The Decision - I know he helped raise money for charity with that broadcast, but it was more than a little pompous.
3) The intro with Bosh and Wade where they came out on stage, dancing and giving high-fives. We know you're the "King," but did we really need the coronation?
4) Not one, not two, not three.

I agree with most of the above. I think it Lebron is a great players. Is he better than MJ . . . I hate making those comparisons. Especially, when they come from two different eras of basketball.
I think those who are back in Cleveland are probably pissed, but lets face it he was never going to get to a NBA championship with them.

Kevin Durant. LeBron still isn't the best player on his own team. LeBron is the most talented, and he wastes a lot of that talent.

No, thats bull. Durant at this point is not a better player. Only thing Durant has over LeBron is that Durant is a more natural scorer and better shooter. In all other categories LeBron is the better player, defense, passing, rebounding, shot blocking just to name a few key stats.

Having become a OKC fan after they moved, I am a big Durant fan, even when he was at Texas. I saw him play at the Allen Fieldhouse and he was a solid legit player then! I think Lebron has a lot of talent and might be the better overall, player but as stated above Durant just has a natural smooth shot. I also think that Durant is more of a "team player".
But, thats my opinion - I could be wrong!
