I said to a couple folks (and Twitter) that Ovechkin was going to have a career-defining game. And maybe he did:

They needed their best player to be their best player to win last night. Did the Rangers throw the blanket over Ovi and muffle all the Caps forwards? Yes. But they needed to rise above that somehow. They didn't. I suspect a lot of "core" guys will be on their way out because the status quo just isn't working in Washington.

Also, that was a very dull Game 7.

Agreed about it being a dull game 7,the Caps just looked disinterested for a game 7,but I'll take a Rangers win in game 7 and be very happy .
