amusing ebay story
So yesterday morning I got an offer on a card on which I had set a BIN OBO of $29.99, the offer was for $14. I countered at $24. Half an hour later I received a counter from the same individual at $19. I countered again at $20 with a message that said "if you can come up one more dollar to an even $20, that card is yours", $20 is the price I set for myself and I was sticking to it. 10 minutes later I had a message in my email telling me the card had sold. I assumed he had accepted the counter offer... 15 minutes later I get a message from him asking what is going on. It turns out that in the 15 minutes between me sending that offer and him clicking accept, someone else had made an offer of $20 (I had the item set to automatically accept any offers of $20 or more, lol) and won the card. The moral of the story...if you really want a card, come with your best offer the first time, or you might miss out on it while you try to nickel and dime an extra buck out of it.
Just amused me, thought I would share.

funny how people will drop 25 bucks on a pizza that disappaers down the toilet in a couple hours but wont go that extra for a card that will stay with you "forever"

what's really funny is that he would have gone $20, but just wanted to try and get it for less, but meanwhile someone else swooped in.
LIke I said, I didn't even realize it had sold to someone else until the original guy messaged me asking what the problem was.

Of course it goes both ways, I was looking for a plain old x/50 parallel Sedin card, one of the bigger sellers i've dealt with in the past was asking 25 which is kinda silly but they've often negotiated reasonably in the past. I tossed in an offer of 10 which was more than fair, as I was sure it'd be available cheaper but didnt want to bother nickle and diming them. They come back with a counter offer of 18! at the same time two other copies come on the bay for 3 bucks apiece.
So I'd say the moral of the story applies equally to sellers and buyers, when you get a good offer, take it. If the buyer finds a more reasonably priced copy elsewhere the offer's off the table and gone forever.

Got this message today:
Dear sjw241,
unfortunately there was a mistake in the address. it should have been 376 and not 379. could you please send it to the correct address?

The card was mailed January 21 2014. I bet I will receive an item not received claim and PayPal will side with the buyer.

of course they will Spence, dont they always, such a joke
need some help here, best way to try to get this guy banned.
thelegend1909:
bought a luongo auto off him on auction for 0.99$ from ITG Ultimate, nice little steal! He's in QC, im in AB, and he has his shipping set at 6.99$US. So I message him asking what service he is using for 7$US (almost 8$CAD at this point), as it basically goes 1.34$ or 2.20$, then next step is at least 10-12$. All he says is "pay for card". So I say, ok but if I get a bubble mailer with 1.34$CAD on it, it will be reflected in your feedback that you overcharge for shipping. Seems fair no? Charge me almost 8$CAD when everything included would cost him about 2.50-3.00$.
He instantly refunds the card and puts it back up as Buy It Now or Best Offer. So obviously now, I hit him with a negative feedback. Now hes harassing me, keeps putting offers on my cards for 0.99$ (on 50-100$ cards). And to top it off, he left feedback for me saying (of course it had to be positive being im the buyer) "Suuukkker a***hole".
Seems to me between cursing in my feedback, and harassing me, and cancelling a sale and putting the card back up for sale, should initiate a banning of the account. Let alone he has a 95% feedback rating.
Thoughts?

Call ebay and tell them what happened. They will remove the feedback, although it is positive. They will also investigate his other actions.
They will be added to the ever growing blocked list for sure.

The buyer just left me positive feedback for the item. Weird!

Alright this is a good one. The sellers username is mckayl_a . I won an auction for a patrick kane auto for $18.50. He had shipping for $16.50. I bought it thinking I was getting registered mail. I get it today in mail. Normal bubble mailer cost him $2.20 to ship. I ask him for a partial refund and he tells me no. So I open a ebay case. Will keep informed on what happens
