His ebay id is:
jtradingcards1
I updated the tracking, and the card arrived this afternoon. Now I have to wait for him to close the claim before I get my money back in my account, which I'm sure he will take his sweet time on. Ugh...

Now he's claiming he still hasn't gotten it, even though the DC says he did. How does ebay typically rule in these situations?

I like to think of myself as rather patient but let me ask from the buyers POV.
Purchased a buy it now card for for over $100. As the price was less than my budget for same card I didn't mess with best offers and paid what seller asked and asked for invoice with registered mail and paid in less than 12 hours. As my experience within Canada is two or three days with registered mail, I got a little antsy after a week and asked for tracking info. No response from seller.
Wednesday will be two weeks with no card, paid for registered mail and have no tracking info, two requests for info and no communication. The seller has over 10,000 feedback, marked card as shipped on the 4th.
FWIW the card is numbered to less than 15 and I have not seen another, which is far more disconcerting than the money because I know I can get that back.
How much more patience should I exercise?

In your case I might start getting antsy too. Seems to me like two weeks is a reasonable amount of time to wait. The more glaring problem is the seller's lack of communication during the process. If he responded the first time with tracking info so you could at least check the cards progress, you probably wouldn't be as stressed about it. I would still wait a little longer, but not too much for sure.
In my case however, the buyer got free shipping, waited only a week and not once messaged me to check on the status of the card. I think you've been pretty fair to your seller, while my buyer is being a jerk.
As an update to my case:
Paypal released my funds from paypal, although the case is still open, so I'm not really sure what that is all about. In my mind the DC says the card was delivered, so I don't know what more I can/could do.

Question about e cheque? Sorry if this has been covered in the thread already but I want to run through 1000+ posts
I have sold somewhere around 75 cards on the bay and today is the first time someone paid with an e cheque. Paypal recomends not to ship card until the cheque clears giving a date of June 25.
So my questions are who has dealt with an e cheque before? Any issues with it? If I wait until the 25th can the buyer ding me on my shipping times? Basically looking for people to share their stories so i know what to expect.
Thanks in advance
Wayne

none. Zero. Absolutely no excuse for a seller not to give you the tracking number as soon as it was marked shipped. Also, if he did ship it without tracking and you paid for shipping he should reimburse you the difference. No excuse why you should not have received your card by now.

I received a payment by e cheque only once. No problem whatsoever. The money just takes awhile to get deposited into your paypal. Just to cover my butt...I sent a message to the buyer thanking him for the payment and that the item would be sent when the cheque cleared. I then sent another when it cleared letting him know it was on its way.

Another eBay seller to avoid
So I had bought two cards on eBay this afternoon. I will post the links:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321429960266...84.m1439.l2649
Note the $80 shipping
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321429980183...84.m1439.l2649
Note the $120 shipping
Now I will admit that I did notice the shipping but figured that it had to be an error. Plus the seller lives in Waterloo and I live in Kitchener. The two cities are connected as one city. If you are from souther Ontario you would understand.
Anyways. I won the two cards and sent the seller this message:
Hey there I have just bought the Tavares and Jurco from you. I live in Kitchener. Can you please send me an invoice with free shipping and I will swing by tomorrow and pick it up from you. I can pay you right now for it and you can even just leave it in your mailbox. I would just need your address.
Thanks,
Jeff
I get this reply:
not a chance of free shipping, I have combined other costs associated to shipping and they are included in the price stated.
So I just sent him this reply:
I am just saying that I will pick it up from you. You do not need to pay to ship it to me.
I got a reply of:
I understand but my costs are in those shipping amounts. if you don't want to pay for them I can cancel. sorry for the inconvenience.
I reply back as:
Why do you charge those really high shipping prices? That has to be a typo. No one else charges close to those prices. What are your other costs associated to shipping that you mentioned in you last message to me?
Reply of:
perhaps you should have asked these questions prior to bidding. you are now responsible for payment, I hate when people decide to back out after when they don't have the time to even look at the description before. either pay or don't, I'm not going to continue to answer these questions
To which I reply:
I just have one last question. If you can explain the breakdown of your shipping charges I will happily pay you your full shipping prices. Thanks.
The seller was messaging me back right away every time. After this message he has not replied back. Needless to say that I am not going to pay $200 for shipping. No one in their right mind would. I will admit that I did notice the shipping rates but figured that they had to be wrong. If it was $10 or so then maybe a seller is just trying to make a profit off of shipping but not charging $80 and $120.
Just passing along another eBayer to block.
His name is jarvy1988

Why aren't you reporting this guy? Get an eBay manager and tell them that you live 3 miles away like you do and that the shipping is about $2.05 in a bubble envelope..
They will cancel the auction for you, or tell the seller to get a life.

In your favour, if you can show that you used tracking. Take my advice, never ship on day 4 after an auction, ship same day or the next. You are begging for trouble shipping 3-4 days after. eBay will always go with the buyer unless you ship same day.
