LOL...ever see a little kid hide behind daddy's leg when a stranger comes to the house?

Yes. It's called having a gun because you're scared of what comes through your door.

I've been with you on most of this thread....but, if "something" just comes through my door (where my family is mind you), shouldn't I be at least a little scared? At least enough to want to defend my family and home????

So you're claiming that Sandy Hook was all set up by Obama to get more gun control legislation through? That would be a rather large hoax to keep everyone involved from talking about it. Think of the people involved in everything that happened. school officials, students, teachers, emergency personnel, medical personnel, funeral homes, students families, etc. That's a lot of people that would have to be on board. It's highly likely that hundreds of people would completely agree with the hoax and not talk.

the government is larger than obama, but the coincidences are crazy.

Most of us use are firearms to defend ourselves, property and families. Some of the people on here however work in an occupation where they are encouraged to shoot first and ask questions later especially when dealing with undesirables if you know what I mean.

Yes. But if nothing has ever come through your door, what are the chances it's going to now.

It's like a cat with the vacuum cleaner. The vaccuum has never attacked the cat, gone after the cat, stolen anything from the cat, or even shown any intent of doing so. Yet the cat is still full of fear. The cat hisses and arches his back every time the vaccuum appears.

In this case, it's not a noisy vaccuum, it's sensational news stories and fear-mongering ad campaigns. The posturing is the same though. And in the end, just as the vacuum cleaner performs its task and continues its existence, crime and violence remained rampant, despite the posturing of guns.

I love when liberals use the "Nothing has ever happened before so I know it won't now either" claim. It is a monumental head-in-the-sand approach.

    Using this "logic"...

I have never been hit by a car, so there is no need to look both ways
I have never fallen off a cliff, so walking along the edge of one with my eyes closed is OK
I have never been attacked by a lion, so I should go to Africa and walk up to the first lion I see and try to pet it

Terrible, and completely nonsensical analogy. I see the logic "nothing has happened yet, so what are the odds it will?"....I should probably wait until something does happen to worry then I guess. Great advice. Nothing has cone through my door yet thankfully. But several houses in my neighborhood have been broken in to, and there was just last week a stabbing less than 1/2 mile away. While I don't live in a "bad" area, apparently, its not as nice as yours to not be worried about your or your family's safety. I do....period. Wick, I can't for the life of me understand why having the means to protect ones family and home is so irritating to you.
