We are to follow the teachings of Christ (who by the way denounced homosexuality when talking about marriage).

No he by the way didn't. Here's what someone said he said he said 2000 years ago and then they wrote down a few hundred years later after he "said" it and it was translated multiple times to english.

"Out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications…these defile a man" (Matthew 15:19)

That means "no sex outside marriage." Jesus says as long as the two dudes are married, it's go time!

Wrong again. You may need to look a little deeper.. Fornication was the term of the time. Homosexuality is a new term.

There are many more. The Bible makes it pretty clear that Homosexuality is a sin. Not sure how anyone can claim otherwise....

and here I thought fornication was "sex outside of marriage". Where is the condemnation of that found in the Bible? It seems to be a pretty big issue with many Christians.

Most (maybe all?) Christian scholars say fornication mean sex outside of marriage. thankfully, the modern world says gays can get married so what they do in marriage is a-ok with Jesus. and your original post was about the new testiment.. and then you go and pull quotes from the OLD testiment to make your point. intellectually dishonest. Yeah Leviticus also says you can't trim your beard, burn honey as an offering to god, eat fat, touch dead animals, or tear your clothes -- among other things. So, since we ignore 99% of that, I'm going to go ahead and assume we can ignore the warnings about the gay stuff.

You nailed it. I think it IS because they don't refuse to ignore it. Sometimes it's hard to not refuse to ignore it, but you have to have the guts to say, "oh no, don't you refuse to ignore it, because by refusing to ignore it you CAN'T BE it." Other times it CAN BE because they ignore it and that's really frustrating too. Sometimes when they are refusing to not ignore it (and ignoring it) I try to remember that labels are pointless and hating entire groups of people for a perceived slight is small... but then invariably some liberal comes along and refuses to ignore it -- and I'm right back where I started.
