Yep, Habs ask on Pleks started with a 2nd and due to multiple teams getting engaged (Winnipeg also in the running) ended up becoming 2nd-plus. So it's good all around. There's talk that Valiev may even get a couple games with the Habs as a look to see if he can fill one of those bottom pairing slots going forward.

As a Senator fan today can't get over fast enough. Ottawa could lose Erik Karlsson , J.G. Pageau and Mike Hoffman all in the next two hours.

I don’t think they all will go. I would hedge that Hoffman would be the one to go today.
Btw - anyone shocked about stastny to the Peg??

I was hoping Valiev got a shot in Toronto (anyone is better than Roman Polak). With Timothy Liljegren, Andrew Nielsen, Travis Dermott, Calle Rosen, Justin Holl, and Andreas Borgman seemingly higher on the depth chart, he became expendable. I also hoped Rychel would get a chance but that's not happening with the depth Toronto has on the wing, it wasn't going to happen.
I'm happy for all the players involved.

The only thing that surprised me with that trade is that a 1st round pick was involved.

Winnipeg is definitely going for it this year. The idea of them actually trading away a draft choice....unthinkable in previous years!
