Well congrats to Buffalo! Going to be a great time for them.
I’m interested to see what the Habs will do at #3. Zadina is the easy choice to make based on “best player available” but it doesn’t address the 1C issue.

You can touch it to your heart’s content but they don’t let you lift it up over your head like the players do.

Doesn't matter at this point.
I have a feeling Montreal will do something unexpected at #3. Despite I cannot see them drafting a forward like Filip Zadina. Brady Tkachuk is available, but does he project as a #1 center? He's listed as a C/LW. Does Marc Bergevin get an offer from a team for their pick in exchange for a center? Time will tell.
I love the draft. It's my favourite time of the year, I enjoy it more than the actual game of hockey on the ice (although the announcers hired by Sportsnet in Canada put me to sleep). I don't think I have sat through an entire game featuring any team all year. I think I should be a GM!

Don,
When a team signs or trades for a player, I've got my calculator out trying to see how much cap room the team has.
I follow the junior, college, and US hockey leagues (with a bit of time spent on leagues in Finland, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Sweden) each year from the start of the season. At the draft, I look through the draft-eligible players and create a list of needs for each team in the NHL and write down the top five players each team could choose for each round (then a trade happens and buggers it all up LOL).
I get way into it!
