Even i agree with you there. If you hit him he gives the puck away & im sure he hears footsteps after that. The Habs exploited him in last years playoffs. Is he flashy & does he make some nice plays? yeah, for sure but he's a defenseman who is a defensive liability, just like Jake Gardiner was. I've been saying that the Leafs should trade him for a solid stay at home d-man while other teams still think he has some upside. He is much too small to play in this League especially when the playoffs roll around & everybody, even the Habs, finish they're checks. I think the point is that Pionk did what he did on purpose, he clearly stuck his leg out after Sandin made a move to get by him & would have had a good scoring chance. Does Sandin have some offensive upside? I think so but d-Men also need to know how to play in they're own zone & he clearly lacks that.He should have been a forward.

i do agree with your assessment on Sandin
i think Liljegren has more upside, although never more than a bottom six dman
what i dont understand about the leafs is why they rely on Muzzin & Holl so much
sure Muzzin throws one check a game but he is soo slow out there always seems to be chasing the play in his own end.
and Holl has taken a step back IMHO this year. it has to be because they have little else
i truly believe the leafs main problem is their top four salaries i mean players
Matthews is amazing, getting better every game.
Marner is like a Pat Kane - he can make almost anybody a goal scorer
and some of his moves - well i pause the game and rewind to watch him in slo-mo he is that good.
Tavares has lost some lusture but still a good 2nd line center behind Matthews
but Nylander such a floater. a guy with tremendous ability but he plays on the outside.
great shot, nice moves, useless in his own end (if he ever gets back that far)
never throws a significant check, kinda shy in the corners altho i have seen flashes.
imagine what the leafs could get for Nylander and Sandin in a trade,
not to mention 13 mil in cap space.
there are a couple hard core defensemen gonna be available in 22.
but probably what is going to happen at the end of this year is ... nothing much
the leafs still think speed and scoring will win you a cup
and they are so wrong it hurts

lol another habs fan. sorry to be rude but why cant u guys just shut up? seriously almost as bad as supposed LA fans!!!
i am pretty sure if sandin was lousy keefe would be sitting him out and playing someone else. i am not one to toot his horn like some leafs fans and media are one to do, but he has not looked out of place in any games this year and his game is growing.

Well now,it just got real in here!! Cant wait to hear what all the disgruntled Habs fans have to say now & hear all the excuses as to why they made the Finals last year & the very next year cant win a game & are sitting in LAST Place!! Let the whining & excuses commence lmao.. Usually its me stirring the pot & riling them up, well, at least until I am not allowed to anymore anyways...
Shout out to the Stanley Cup Champs Tampa Bay Lighting for doing all of Canada a favor last year!!
I do agree with some of what he had to say though. Could you imagine if we had a coach like Mike Keenan who demands 100% from his stars on every shift of every game? I think Nylander would spend the 2nd half of most games sitting at the end of the bench. For 6.5 Million per season i think he needs to give more to the team. I wanted them to trade him a few years back when he held out on the team & i also thought his contract was too high but i also have to say over the last few years his all around game has improved to the point where i dont yell at him every game anymore..
Let the Whining & Excuses commence!! Cant wait to hear this lmaoLast edited by 30ranfordfan; 12-09-2021 at 05:20 PM.

Just a reminder for all you self righteous Habs fans that are most likely going to talk crap in here now. Check out the bottom!! How fitting is that!! Not even sure how you can talk crap but look who is now in LAST Place!! Go Leafs Go!!
You going to be the 1st team in the NHL shortly to give up 100 Goals this year in what? 27 Games & other than Phoenix you have the worst Goal differential at -35.
I Luv It!!!!!

i have been a Leafs fans all my 65 years.
i wouldnt put a habs jersey on even for a bet.
and if you think Sandin doesnt look out of place you probably think Nylander is a star player too. everyone has a right to their opinion
heck 40% of Americans (from the news polls) think O'Biden is doing a great job.
so enjoy the game tonight. it is after all suppose to be entertainment first. a reason for people to gather and talk about stuff, friendly banter.

lol that guy pmed me saying how he has been a leafs fan forever. nope. ignored and blocked. has sandin been perfect? no. but how many elite young d men are there in the league? not that many. he has gotten better. maybe i have not been watching him like a hawk but from what i have seen and i think most people can say that he is an up and coming d man and as a leafs fan i can't expect anything more than that.Last edited by 30ranfordfan; 12-09-2021 at 05:21 PM.

sorry James
i should of mentioned that i was referring to Chakhae1.
you tend to be entertaining and i enjoy your threads.
dont always agree, but thats okay right.
i usually joke that i am an out of the closet Leaf fan because for many years it was tough to publicly reveal that fact.
the maple laffs and the dead wings lol
in my younger years it kinda made me an outcast because i was born in a little French community where saturday night was sacred because les habs were on TV.
i do remember when the guy down the street got a colour TV. and we would all crowd into his livingroom to watch the games.
friendly arguements, trashtalk a few wobbly pops, man those were good times.
and the next morning we all met again in church. lolLast edited by icefields; 12-09-2021 at 02:31 PM.

I grew up a lonely Leafs fan in a house full of Habs lovers so i know what your talking about. As well i grew up in the late 70's & early 80's when we were absolutely terrible. Guys talk about us not making the Playoffs for all those years in a row in the late 2000's til we made it back to the playoffs in 2016 but the 1980's were way worse than that. Most years we were lucky if we won 20 games a season. They were some bad years, bad ownership, bad drafting & on & on. Would definitely like to win a Cup before i die though.
& i only clarified that for the Nosy Habs Fans that come on here strictly for Drama purposes. Im sure i have been tattled on for dissing the Habs like last year when i wasnt allowed to comment anymore yet the same guys come on here dissing the Leafs. Funny how that works eh!!
Another Huge Shout out to the Tampa Bay Lighting for shutting that down!! All we hear about is 1993 like its not 30 years ago, glad we dont have to listen to it like it was 2020..
Now all we hear about is how they were 19 Million over the Salary Cap, like Montreal wasnt over the Cap too.. They just couldnt find enough players that wanted to go there to be 19 Million over the Cap.
Also, have you ever seen a team go to the Finals then have half they're team bail on them in the Off Season? That should tell you all you need to know about playing in Montreal..Last edited by 30ranfordfan; 12-09-2021 at 05:35 PM.
