Last I heard was this was a no go. Microsoft denied reports that they were going to integrate Blu Ray into new releases of the 360 or produce a Blu Ray add on peripheral. Big loss on their plates!!
as far as the war ... PS3 vs. 360
I've owned both, I've been through 2 360's because of the "Red Rings" and I finally decided to go with a PS3 and all I can say is I'm glad I did. Everyone say's that PS3 doesn't have a lot of games, but they have a nice amount and 2008 has a lot of great releases scheduled. I also have a Blu Ray player and a gaming system for about the price of a stand alone Blu Ray player costs. I'm not going to argue which is better but if I had to start all over again ...
I'd go with PS3.

I gotta put in my three cents here. Dude, I used to love PS2, then I got hooked on xbox. And when the new stuff came out, I bought an xbox elite because it blew out the ps3 in all categories. While I play video games like...hmm...three times a year, I use it mainly for watching movies on, it's still the best on graphics and frame rates than almost even blue ray, so go with what your heart tells you (whisper xbox) :D

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that you don't have a 1080p tv.

^^^ yeah I would say the same thing becuase I can definitely tell the difference between watching SD movies through my old 360 and Blu Ray through my PS3. The difference is huge!!!
I also have to disagree that the Elite blows out the PS3 in all categories .... 360 Elite still does not have Blu Ray. And that, for many people will be the reason why sony walks away in this system vs. system competition.
If I had to choose all over again knowing what I know now between Sony and MS, I would definitely choose PS3 over the 360 anyday of the week. MS may have curbed the market with the 1st gen Xbox, but I can guarantee unless they light a fire under something quick ... Sony is hands down going to win the next gen. fight.
