Or Paxson could give Thomas another chance and start him at power forward.. Rose, Gordon, Deng, Thomas, and Noah wouldn't be a bad starting 5, with Nocioni as the 6th man..

With the second pick in the NBA draft Miami selects...
Michael Beasley from Kansas State University.
Height: 6'10"
Weight: 235 lbs.
Position: Forward
This was a very easy pick to make. With the addition of Beasley, we can have a lineup consisting of Jason Williams at PG, Wade at SG, Marion at SF (he will be re-signed), Beasley at PF, and Mourning at Center. Beasley will provide an immediate upgrade over Haslem who hasn't lived up to his potential. If need be, Beasley can possibly be moved over to the center position, in order to give the aging Mourning a rest at times. We are confident in Beasley's abilities on the court, and that he will consistantly give us a 20-point/10-rebound performance every night. We considered O.J. Mayo for this position in the draft, but realized that we just couldn't pass up on Beasley. The only concern that we have on Michael is his ability to play defense, but we will work with him as much as possible until he can defend very well. We can't wait to welcome him as the new addition to our team, and are very glad that Chicago passed up on him. They'll look back in five years and think how great their team could have been. Also, Michael can shoot the ball. We need both an inside presense on our team, and someone who can shoot besides Wade. He can take some pressure off of Dwayne on the outside, and create mismatches when double-teamed.
