Maybe you should stop slinging mud and bring up decent subjects to discuss.

I'm sick and tired of this crap and I do not stand alone. Maybe subjects like the one in this topic drive people away from interest in politics and the will to vote.

i understand your point yanksfan...I just think the mistake on Palin's part was teaching abstinence in the first place...and I think the more relevent topic is Palin's own 5 month old baby

I do wonder myself now if McCain's camp investigated her good enough...the fact Palin is under investigation is enough to make you wonder if there is gonna be more that comes out about her...

guys - the fact that her daughter had sex does not mean Palin didn't teach her children. You also cannot blame every teenage pregnancy on "abstinence" education. If we want to debate what the proper sex education course is, then we can. But to blame the pregnancy on that is a bit short sighted IMO.

well, i'm certainly not claiming that abstinence education led to her being pregnant, nor that it is responsible for other teenage pregnancies....i'm only saying abstinence education is not real sex education in my opinion...

my first response was that this news is irrelevent and if anything is distracting from more meaningful things that could be talked about

Palin's daughter. She's pregnant at 17? Fine, I'm anti-abortion anyway. This, however, looks horrible on the part of Palin, who preaches abstinence and family ties. Also, McCain selected her knowing this, raising doubts that he vetted her thoroughly enough (as if they weren't already raised enough). It's becoming increasingly clear this pick was aimed at votes moreso than suiting the country's needs. Had he picked Romney, I'd be very humbled right now.

    I digress. Palin's daughter.

Bad, bad politics on McCain's part.

I think it's great politics. Anyone who touches this will be deemed insensitive, especially now that Obama has publically stated that Palin's daughter is off-limits. And are you saying that McCain didn't know that her daughter was pregnant? I'm sure he did.

Hey, Clinton was, for Democrats, really popular he was sleeping around all the time!

Remember how Lloyd Bentsen told Dan Quayle he was "no Jack Kennedy" during the 1988 VP debate? Well Sarah Palin makes even Mr. Potatoe Head look good. "Governor, you're no Dan Quayle."

Yeah I do. I never did anything bad/illegal as a child because my parents raised me right. I still don't do anything illegal and I serve in our nations military. I do not want my leaders less responsible than myself.

this quote here really is the most WRONG statement. because i lied to a teacher about doing my homework in the past i was raised by bad parents (or parent for me) or because i disrespected someone when i was 9 that makes me a bad person and i was not brought up right? lets get real here, EVERYONE has done SOMETHING wrong, and if you say you havent your lying.......your saying you've never teased, cussed, stolen, broke something etc? i find it hard to believe.

my brothers have made bad choices, i believe watching people make some bad descions is good for people to realize not to do that stuff. your saying pretty much by my brothers being bad it reflects me and says i wasnt brought up right?

i do agree with redgonewild. especially in this day in age, sex before 18 is not going to be stopped, also the age of consent in the USA is different in every state, its pretty young in Hawaii i think, like 13-14. in michigan its 16.

There's a huge difference between the Vice President and the third to last drop-out for nominee. Also, there's a difference between a man who Obama barely knew versus one who raised these morals into a child. No comparisson whatsoever. Each one of your links is provided by wikipedia. If I wanted to, I can go in there and list Tiger Woods as his half-brother.

I'm showing you how silly it is to judge Palin by her daughter's actions. I commend her daughter for marrying her boyfriend and not aborting it. Shows what kind of daughter Palin raised. If she had less values she would let it grow for six months the partial birth abort it and call it, "Freedom of Choice."

I bet you $100 you can't edit the Wikipedia page and make it show Tiger Woods as his half brother. You obviously don't know how Wikipedia works. Any edits get reviewed. How about putting your money where your mouth is?
