Yes, Mike, I googled it! :)
But I assume you got the idea for this thread also from Youtube (or at least the interview in Feb 08 with the Texas Dem senator who got fried on the same question).
Just read this as an answer to your question:

I think it's inevitable for both parties! After 8 years of Republican misery and spending! The deficit has never been this huge! What is it, Mr. Finance Major, $9.7 trillion or so? Like $30,000 per capita?

gsj68, right below you in california. Well if you aren't aware how bushed has let so many things pass, say if someone else were in office that didn't deal with the rich, then gas would be lower. The housing crisis has a few different people to blame

Yes, it's in that range. Unfortunately BOTH parties are responsible so no matter who wins we're screwed. In one way or another they've ALL said they're going to increase gov programs which of course means increased taxes. I may have missed it but I don't recall anyone discussing how they were going to cut any monies anywhere. The only person that's come close is Obama who says we have to find a way to quit spending so much money in Irag, but of course he doesn't want to use that money to decrease our spending/debt, he wants to use it finance more gov programs, and then some.
What's the term ? Spending like a drunken sailor ? Unfortunately the drunken sailor eventually runs out of money and friends to loan him more. It's not pretty when he has to work twice as hard, with a hangover, to get himself out of hock. IMO we're heading the same direction and it ain't gonna pretty when we have to pay the piper.

Everyone says we shouldn't be a racist nation and then we list as Obama's accomplishments that:
He was the first black president of the Harvard Law review
Registered 150,000 black voters

Same ole same ole.
Can't make a cogent arguement on the topic being discussed so try to divert attention to a completely different subject. Like Mike said, you wanna talk about Bush ? Make another thread.
Mike,
I'm as amused as you are. I'm an independent and find it incredible that nobody can give a reasonable answer to your question. Even with all the resources of the internet at our fingertips noone can seem to find any significant accomplishment besides self promotion and racial preference in his endeavors.

It is sad isn't it !
Personally I'm sick to death hearing about all our differences. If we'd focus on our common goals and dreams and abilities we'd be a whole lot better off.
