How can Obama NOT win?
If Obama doesn't win the Presidency, it would have to be the worst run campaign in the history of politics. Here are advantages that I see:
- Obama has a 2 - 1 cash advantage. $460 million to McCain's $230 million.
- Obama has been on the Oprah show
- Obama has a failing economy and a standing Republican President
- Most Americans have a negative opinion on Iraq and Obama voted against Iraq
- Obama has the media in his pocket (Time Magazine cover 6-7 times, Newsweek many times, etc) and Palin has them savagely attacking her
- Obama has world support, something like 4-1
- Obama has the Clintons campaigning for him and McCain has Bush :(
- Obama is very young and McCain is very old
- Obama has an experienced VP and McCain has an inexperienced VP
- Obama is a great speaker and McCain is an average speaker
- Obama has Democrats same day registering and voting people in Ohio
- You can't talk about Obama's personal life without being called a racist
How in the world can Obama NOT win this election? Why is he not up 10-20 points like Reagan was again Dukakis or Nixon was against McGovern?

McCain's continous attacks is also a reason for his campaign's demise. Too much of his $$$ are being funneled into political attacks against Obama. And the Palin pick wasn't a good one. Neither party had a solid candidate...just like in 04.

Mike stop playing the Victim....
Huh? How is this playing the victim? So, Obama is running against me? Seeing that you responding without disputing anything on the list I will assume you have no argument against this. :)

Whining about magazine covers and talk show visits for Obama while posting thread after thread bashing Obama is playing the victim, something you so succently pointed out to me "wastes time."

Your opinion. Have an actual point to make about this thread? Or going to just keep complaining over and over and never get to the topic of the thread?

1. yes, an advantage...people send in money for the candidates they like...I guess people like Obama twice as much
2. Who was the last person to win the presidential election after appearing on Oprah? I would guess nobody...also, I don't believe Obama has been on the show since he announced his candidacy...I could be wrong, but I find it hard to believe Oprah holds that much sway over presidential elections
3. probably an advantage...I guess the failing economy is blamed on Republicans
4. Obama looks pretty damn smart here, wouldn't you agree?
5. I guess you haven't been to Borders lately....Time has had McCain on 3 of the last 5 covers (2 shared with Obama) and Palin was on another...so 4 of last 5 Time covers have had either McCain or Palin on cover....also, I would agree that Obama gets more coverage, but I would assume he has received more negative coverage as well
6. World support is great, we need to rebuild our reputation...but no advantage, because they cant vote
7. no advantage...Bush got 50% of the vote in 2004, lol....I have never seen Bush campaign for McCain...in fact, I would think McCain has told him to stay away, stay far far away...seriously tho, this is definitely an advantage for Obama
8. Yes, you are right...McCain has been collecting social security for 7 years now
9. no advantage....They each could choose who they wanted...I personally think McCain made a really bad choice, but I KNOW McCain got a bump by picking her...I'll call this the MILF effect
10. advantage Obama....communication is essential for a president, as evidenced by the previous 8 years of Bush....Reagan & Clinton were good communicators and is partly why they were well liked
11. no advantage....McCain has Karl Rove working for him, and Obama's camp is just following the strategy of a proven winner ;)
12. no advantage....I don't recall anybody being called a racist for bringing up Obama's personal life, maybe I'm wrong...If anything, I've heard his pastor labeled a racist & anti-American pretty often...There have been 43 presidents, and all were white men, so I would even argue that his race is a disadvantage
Obama is a young, inexperienced senator with 4 years experience who picked a gaffe machine for his VP. He's also the first black man to be on a major ticket, where only 40 years ago, black people were drinking water from seperate fountains. He's admitted to using cocaine and marijuana, is against guns, and is extremely liberal. He attended school as a child in Indonesia, and attended a church for 20 years in which the pastor accused the government of creating AIDS.
McCain has over 25 years experience, and is a member of the same party as the 2 term incumbent president. He is a war hero, spent 5+ years as a POW, and has a Navy ship named after him. He pushed for the succesful surge strategy in Iraq. He has selected the first woman on a major ticket to be his vice-president, and a hot one at that. He has been labeled a maverick, and he is known for being able to cross party lines and work well with both Republicans and Democrats. He donates all of his book proceeds to charity ($1.8 million since 1998), and his family has even adopted. He even ran for president before, losing only to a 2-term president.
The better question is Why is McCain/Palin not up 10-20 points?

McCain really has to pull something out of his sleeve in Tuesdays Debate. He HAS to win hands down, even though mnost news outlets and there fake polls will say obama won lol..
What sucks is McCains strongsuit is the middle debate, and they let the 2nd economy be the last. Whats gonna be on the voters mind, the last thign they hear. So McCai nreally needs to do very well in these last 2 debates.

true, we have no history of her backing presidential elections but her following on other things is ridiculous. She picks a book of lies as her book of the month and within 2 days it is the top selling book in america. Obviously it is easier to buy a book than elect a president but don't doubt that there is a percentage of her supporters that will do pretty much whatever she tells them.
For the record, this is just my opinion and no I do not have any statistics to back it up (except for the book comment)
