I live in North Austin and gas prices are still around $3.20 here. Certainly dropped, but nothing I'm thankful about. Wish I knew where to get $2.99 gas!

crude oil is $79.90 as of today, a barrel is 55 gallons which means gas is $1.45 for the oil companies to pay per gallon. they are just being gready sons of b$%!@#es...non of it has to do with bush...it has to do with gready oil companies who use the media as an excuse for higher gas prices...

you are right. The barrels of oil cost $1.45 per gallon. They then have to pay to ship it, refine it, ship it to distributors, ship it to local gas stations who then sell it. All of that costs money. And even after that, more is paid in taxes on a gallon of gas then goes to the oil company.

It would be years before you would see even a drop of that oil. Not saying it shouldn't be done, but it is hardly the solution.

This is nothing to do with Dubya and everything to do with the financial markets. Everything is falling. People are placing their money in precious metals and government secured debts.
