But I think I see what you're saying. I think people are thinking of machine guns and such when you hear about semi-auto and automatic guns.

yeah. those in favor of gun control have done a great job of making the average citizen think that semi-automatic etc are only ak-47s and m-16s.

what people fail to realize is that for a lot of people guns are a hobby. I am stealing an analogy but it can be explained like cars. There is no need for someone to have a car that goes 200 miles per hour. They just want them. Numerous people die because of super fast cars that have no purpose. we don't restrict those.

I wouldnt be opposed to making it harder for citizens to get guns, like more extensive background checks and such.

But the problem is stolen guns and guns bought off the black market. You cant regulate those. The only way is to impose a greater penalty on those that commit crimes with guns.

But you do restrict the use of their power.

    For cops and military only.

Also the fast car analogy. I am against stupid fast cars also.

Views depend on experience. I lost a mother to someone speeding and my sister to guns. Both were innocent and in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Regulate. Military can have what they want(they use them for protection) Cops get limitations. There will be firepower for cops but it will be issued based on situations.

I can understand a rifle for hunting. But you only need one per person. Background checks need to be made mandatory and guns should be licensed. Licensed so they can be checked up on. This will limit illegal selling and buying.

My shotgun that I hunt with is semi-automatic. It serves me a purpose.

Wait I just want to check to make sure I'm getting this correctly. To hunt a deer or a duck or whatever you are hunting, you need a semi-automatic shotgun to do it? A regular shotgun doesn't do the trick? You are doing the same job with a semi-automatic shotgun, that 400 years ago people were doing with wood, some string, and an arrowhead at the end. I don't mean to sound judgemental, it just seems excessive to me.

As far as gun control, I have no problem with people having guns, however Semi-Automatics and Automatics should be banned from regular citizens.

I'm talking about here, not in war. So why would only the military need protection?

And about the one per person thing, there are different sizes for different needs.

And yes, license them and even check up on them if need be.

The military is at war every day whether you want to admit it or not. Just because it is not publicized doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

And the needs thing. Besides hunting why else would you need a gun?
