he likes to use big words and phrases that general americans won't even understand.

I disagree; I think he's very easy to understand. Of course, I majored in English, so I probably tend to overestimate the average person's vocabulary.

Obama is much easier to listen to than Biden. I almost fell asleep when Biden started droning on and on about something or other.

And no, I am not jealous at all, I am pissed I am going to be paying taxes out of my *** as soon as I get out of grad school (taxes that Bush lowered)... And the way people are praising Obama (not necessarily on SCF) all over the nation, makes him seem like a savior... sooooo many mislead people

That is why the President is given the power to veto, so that Congress isn't running the country.

And let's actually give Obama more than 5 hours as President before we determine if he will reach across the aisle or not.

I would bet a good chunk of change he doesn't... especially considering he was one of the biggest liberals in the senate, did he ever vote for something the conservatives wanted?

I don't care for McCain, but he was much more bipartisan than Obama

I was wondering about this today.....

What if Obama becomes one of the greatest presidents of all-time.....Not because he did everything he said he was going to do prior to today, but because he did what he thought was right. Even if he had to change his mind on a few things he wanted to do. What if he did a few things he said he was going to do, then decided that "hey, McCain was right about this, we're going in this direction", or either side. What if he gave up on the left side, right side, and middle and just became the President, nothing more nothing less.

Then we'd all be wrong. haha.

This just entered my head today out of nowhere, because I was wondering what each side (left or right) would say. I have a feeling most right-wingers wouldn't admit to him being good and try to find some flaws. I also think most left-wingers would say something like "I told you so", even when most of them thought that all his positions were right, even if President Obama changed HIS mind on them.

Maybe I'm off track. But wouldnt it be nice if this happened.

    Good point.
That would be great in my opinion.

Changing your mind is a good thing when it is necessary.

Ha! I like that thought...everyone is wrong for the right reasons and right for the wrong reasons. I would be very happy if that happened

Exactly. I couldn't care about his mis quotes or his broken promises. Seems like a lot of Obama haters do...for whatever apparent reason. All I care about is this country moving into the right direction. Its unfortunate that some people already have their mind made up before he took the oath.
