It was posted on the internet at midnight on Thursday before they voted on Friday.

I completely agree, but Palin felt to not put any money into alternative energy. Drilling while vigorously researching would be something few people except tree huggers would oppose

Government funding has never led to a major innovation.

    Car
    Plane
    Internet expansion
    Cell phone technology
    Computers

All privately funded. Government officials are politicians, not scientists and inventors. They do not and should not know where to throw the money.

I haven't taken part in the poll since I did not vote for Obama (hence not a true "supporter"), but I don't hate him, either..and further, I think it's too early to make an evaluation of him in office. I have liked and disliked various ideas of his so far, but it's still too early for a more overall decision, IMO.

I basically just have this to say, I find it very humorous for some of the supporters to think that Obama was THE solution.

I realize he hasn't had much time, but so far its gotten worse since he got into office. Seems to me hes either blaming something on the Bush administration or trying to hand out money we don't have.

All I know is every day we wait to find some sort of solution the stock market continues to inch to zero ..

so you think sarah palin can run a country better then Barack Obama can?

i dont even think she could lead a group of girl scouts to sell cookies.

    just my opinion.

No, I don't think she can run a country better than Barack...I don't necessarily think she would do any worse either, but my point is she would take the country more in the direction I think it should go than Obama. Running the country and taking it in the right direction are two completely different things in my mind and the right direction is much more important to me. If you want to lump the two in together, then I would still choose Palin because, as I said before, she shares more of my beliefs. I'm not going to choose someone who wants to do the opposite of what I think is best just because he would do it better.

If mccain palin we would be in a depression and the banking system would be in even worse shape.

I'm holding off judgement to see if he fills the promises that I agreed with him on (health care being a big one). I gave bush a couple years after voting for him and that didnt' turn out to well lol.

I do like that they are releasing all the memos showing exactly what Bush was up and they are at least LOOKING into investigating..

Wrong. McCain/Palin (both of whom I was incredibly disappointed in) would not be proposing the irresponsible budget that has driven the DOW into the toilet in the last 2 weeks.

That's a good point...and the proposed taxes and regulations that are keeping companies from investing more money. Obama can pass the buck on a lot of the problems he is facing, as they were there when he took office, but the stock market plunge is on his shoulders. Many of the things take time to begin to recover and economic drops can be the result of something that happened months or years ago, but the stock market responds quickly and the current drop is a result of Obama's actions.

I believe the internet was initially developed as a millitary tool and even if the expansion was privately funded I think developing the internet is a truly major innovation

Agreed. Which is why I said "expansion." The military only scratched the surface of what the internet has become.

But that's my point. You found one that was pseudo-government backed. It's a nice idea to think that the Government could effectively fund alternative energy sources, but if we are wise, we'd simply look toward the track record of significant innovations.
