Whitney who? He had never quite lived up to expectations and couldn't run the powerplay on his own. Since he was the heir to Gonchar's spot as power player QB and couldn't handle it, trading him for a pair of cheep forwards was the best possible solution. Now its time to see if Letang and Goligoski can't mature into the position.
The Hossa factor could be the real deal. I have always thought Hossa is a guy who makes a good team better, but does not have the impact to make a good team great. Without a doubt this post season will be the what defines his carear.
Oh... i didn't expect you to have any of the humble pie i suggest.

ok clearly they are not best in every aspect because if you take a look at goaltending I would take fleury over osgood any day
"Why would you say Osgood will get pummeled. Are these not pretty much the same teams that met last year? What has changed on your roster compared with the Wings. Just like to know why you think the wings will get pummeled. Can it happen sure but I don't think it going to be easy for either team."
No, your right pittsburgh hasnt made any drastic changes from last year but geno and crosby are playing loads better. top 2 in points in the playoffs. I personally dont think osgood will be able to handle that

Osgood is better than Fleury hands down, and has shown he is a top playoff goalie. he has performed well every playoff game and will have no problem with the pens. You will see

fleury has not played exceptional...he gave up terrible terrible goals to ovechkin...which Im sure even you would be able to stop. And he may have 10x worse defense in front of him, but the caliber of teams he's facing are 10x worse than the teams the wings have to play to get to the finals.

Seriously...are you serious
I thinks pens/wings would be a great series, fun to watch. But in the end i dont think pitt can handle the depth and experience that det has...
p.s. ozzie has 2.17 GAA .920 save % 32 GA
fleury 2.71 GAA .902 save % 45 GA

Hmmmm Crosby/Malkin or Zetterberg/Datsyuk Ill take my chances with Crosby and Malkin.....The Wings are like the Yankees of Hockey. No one thought the Marlins would be the Mighty Yanks in 03 and they wiped the floor with them (IM a Yanks fan). The Pens are a Year Older and Crosby and Malkin have a year of expierience on their side. You need one good beating in the cup before you can win it and DET gave that to us last year. Its redemption time. You think Osgood is gonna shut out the Pens in the first games again? If you answer yes then your plain crazy

How old are you? Seriously you're comments are slowly siding "with my dad is better than your dad"
The Pens are weaker defensively, but don't be too sucked in my the Wings. They are a great team, a great team who almost got knocked out by the 8th seed. What does that tell you young man? Anything can happen in the playoffs. The Pens learned a lot last playoff season and have played better teams to get where they are now. Blue Jackets & Ducks or Caps and Flyers?
The next series will be better than last year, maybe the same outcome, but the Pens will give the Wings a go of it.
Listening to you makes me hate the Wings more than I already do
I apologize in advance to the members here for jumping in, but it had to be said!Last edited by sholi2000; 05-25-2009 at 07:38 AM. Reason: English is Fun
