The Cup is hand-packed by Upper Deck employees, when the cards are brought in from players and pooled together they take the time to pack each box by hand. Doesn't mean you'll get The Cup first, as I don't know where the final cases are shipped from.
It's not really a public thing, Jeremy had to go through directly through Upper Deck staff to get involved and once he's finished the database should be available to everybody as he offered to host the images himself as part of the deal.

Thanks, nobody posted this information here before, the information is concentrated somewhere else. I hope UD will make sure the scans will be available on a public web site to give some power to the database.

Hi All,
The pictures will be my property, not UD's. How and when they are made public is still undetermined. However, I will say that although I do most of my posting on HI, I am not doing this for the exclusivity of HI users, rather for the whole hobby, including members of SCF and all other sites, for that matter.
Unfortunately 95% of the cards have been mixed so it will take substantial time to sort the images and make this service usable.
However, I do assure you that after investing over $7K to do this (so far) of my own money (less a few hundred donated to me by users at HI) with only dinners provided by UD, that I am doing this for the integrity of the cards that we will all soon acquire and for the betterment of the hobby I love.
The set looks awesome by the way. I photographed 6071 cards today. Major progress! I am very pleased.
One more thing, if I read any negative crap about this project, I will be very disappointed in those who write said crap. My back is killing me, it's freakin' hot here, and I'm using my vacation days from work to do this.
Cheers,
Jeremy

Jeremy, we all appreciate what you are doing, kind of wish Upper Deck would focus on the customers and provide with housing and such. Oh well. Thanks for doing this
