Correct on the Super Bowl stats - they speak for themself as he played brutal. That being said, his games to get them to the Super Bowl's were outstanding and like it or not he has a knack to win games... So we can talk about stats till we are blue in the face, Big Ben knows how to win games.

He played very well in the 2nd go around considering the OL didn't play well and he was hit quite a bit.

Well, statistics are tangeble elements that can be disected. And they are the main criteria for HOF voting, so I think they are vital to this coversation.

That being said, I wouldnt argue he can keep his team in it. But doing just enough to keep your team in it isnt nearly enough to be considered a HOF QB imho. And with the pieces he had around him (Coaching staff, Parker/Moore, Ward/Plax/Holmes, that AMAZING DEFENSE!) I think a lot of decent quarterbacks can thrive with those pieces around them.

I dont dislike Big Ben at all. I actually love watching him and the Steelers play cause they play so well as a team. I think he's good, just not great. And thats the entire point of this discussion. Greatness. Comparing to Marino, Elway and Manning as Gobius posed.

Are there any other QB's that have won 2 Super bowls and not in the HALL? Talk about terrible numbers another pittsburgh QB Mr. Bradshaw has AWEFUL numbers and he got in doing very little. Of course he was retired before i was born so im just going off numbers.

as of now I'd say no, he hasn't won 2 Super Bowls, the Steelers defense and running game has won 2 Super Bowls FOR him

Okay.. enough of this defense and running game WON him the Super Bowl's. Yes, the Steelers have had good defenses and a solid running game for years - that is one of their recipes for success. However, did the defense throw that pass in the dwindling seconds up to Santonio Holmes? No, they didn't. Ben Roethlisberger did. I am by no means a Steeler fan as I love my beloved Colts but this is guy is one heck of a player. I don't think he is a HOF now - he very well could be when he retires, but not now.

Agreed. Talk about stats that point to a mediocre QB at best. They are laughable. But! He pulled it out when he needed to get in and through the post-season and helped win 4 Super Bowls.

which they were able to win because of James Harrison's INT for a TD that was the difference in the win. Also the Holmes catch was more him having an unbelievable catch over Ben's throw

Not yet - he is on pace to be a future HOFer, but I wouldn't induct him today based on his career thus far...but, he is on pace to become a future HOFer.
