you're right...i was actually off on my math...
not counting big ben.....there's 9 QB's who have won 2 Super Bowls...8 of them are hall of famers
8/9 = 89%
so Big Ben is actually an 89% lock for the HOF
Can't argue w/ an 89% possibility.

interesting thing about Jim Plunkett...
he's the only player to win the Heisman, Maxwell & Walter Camp awards in college, be the number 1 NFL draft pick, and win rookie Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year & Super Bowl MVP in their career
but still no Hall of Fame for Plunkett...
yes, i'm a fountain of useless football knowledge

I hate to admit it but, Brady is probably a lock. And I think he along with Peyton Manning are prime examples of QBs reaping the benefits of the team around them. I am not saying they are not good quarterbacks but, the systems they play in are designed for 300 yard passing games week in and week out. The Steelers game plan is get the lead and "RUN" out the clock. It does not give Ben pretty stats. If he keeps winning, I believe he will be in Canton.

I think you make a great point. In the Steelers' offense he will never put up mind blowing passing numbers but he should continue to lead them to victories.

, besides the two championships late in his career and a good first year Plunkett's career wasn't great. This is probably why he isn't in the HOF.

So we can't talk about his potential to be a HOFer? He's not a HOFer now of course, but he's accomplished enough in his first five years that it's completely valid to talk about whether he's on the right track and how his career is shaping up against the all-time greats. And frankly, that's what most of the useful comments in this thread have done.

Ben is maybe an above average QB at best, until the fourth quarter. The guy is just unstoppable in the fourth quarter. I'm not a Steelers fan obviously, but I watched quite a few of their games last year, and it seems like Ben won half of their games on the last drive or an overall flawless fourth quarter.
But, he won't make the HOF on fourth quarter comebacks and Super Bowls alone, he is going to have to improve and seperate himself from the other QBs like Brady and Peyton have done. It is too hard to tell right now, 5 or 6 years from now we will be able to judge if he is going or not.

If he keeps winning and possibly adds another ring he'll have great shot. QB's don't need to have great stats just wins and championships.

I wish I could of seen him play b/c his stats don't read HOF, almost like his career is based on one game.
