Just to chime in, I'm guilty of tossing and/or giving away loads of base. Mostly stuff from early to mid 90's. I gave away a bunch to good will, and the rest went to the recycling center with the rest of the houshold refuse cardboard. As I've gotten older, my collecting interests have become much more focused and space has become much more valuable to me than the cards were. I kept what i wanted, and did away with the rest.

Sometimes, that huge box of cards that people don't want for $5 just isn't worth the hassle of shipping or trying to find a worthy home for.

Kind of like an old TV. Sure, there's SOMEONE out there who could use/want one, but if the goodwill won't even take it, the only other practical options are recycling centers (if you have one that takes an old TV) or the dump. No shame in doing that with cards too.

Does anyone have any free basketball base cards that I can have as I live in NZ I can not buy any cards as they don't sell them. I can not imagine anyone throwing away cards. I pretty much collect base as I can't really get anything else.

Please pm me if you have any you can give me or I can trade some stuff on my tradelist for them. Please LMK

I've tossed cards. I've tossed anything dinged that isn't numbered or collectable in some way. I've tossed lots of junk wax in the 1989 Proset group off the top of my head. I would never toss anything that cost me $4.00 a pack though.

    ****GONE/DONE/GOODBYE****

I have enough BASKETBALL cards to fill 4 550 count boxes and send in a flat rate box ($10.95)....

If someone wants this I would need $15 pp...the extra $4 is for the 550 boxes...

I don't want to get into details about what cards I have but I doubt anyone would be disappointed...I just need to reduce my weight a little...

If you are interested send a PM...GONE, No PMs Please!

    ****Update/Edit****

    These sets are well represented:

    04-05 UD
    00-01 mvp
    97-98 finest
    96-97 ultra
    04-05 r class
    06-07 bowman
    01-02 platinum
    07-08 bowman
    06-07 sp authentic

then about 700 are a mixed bag of stars and semi stars but no lebron or kobe...these cards go back to the 90's...but there is no excess of guys you've never heard of...

The 4 boxes don't fit in a regular flat rate box so it would have to be a large box ($13.95) plus $4...So $18 instead of $15...

I don't know what to do with my base. I keep #d cards and better. But, base? Nah. I do Group Breaks weekly and if anyone is interested in thousands of football and some baseball base, shoot me a PM. I could ship it out, if you pay for shipping with 5 dollars on the top.

KillerKards if you have that much money laying around and the base cards are worthless to you, why don't you give them to a disadvantaged child or donate them to a charity. I am sure you also could just donate them to a card shop at the very least.

I have reluctantly tossed a few away doubles (collect base sets w RCs) because they take up a lot of space. It's hard to find people or places that take them. If anyone is interested and willing to pay shipping plus a few dollars I have some basketball cards (about 300-400 base and a few common RCs from 01-02, 02-03, 03-04, 04-05).

I have thrown away alot of base since I started buying cards a few years ago. I keep Sabres base, and some star players base but other than that I toss them. If I knew somebody who wanted to take them i wouldnt throw them out but its almost impossible to get rid of thousands of base cards. I understand people wanting to keep their base, and I respect it but I dont quite get why people seem so offended that not everybody has the same feeling they do concerning base cards. If I buy boxes, and dont want to keep stacks of base cards, or go through the hassle of finding somebody who wants them, thats my choice. Im pretty sure it isnt a crime against humanity to throw away base cards that few people want in order to save space and avoid agrravation from something that is supposed to be fun. Just my thoughts though.

I used to keep my base cards. Thousands of cards later they were just taking up space. I had huge monster boxes that were near impossible to move due to the weight. Ended up just dumping most of them just to clear out space.
