Favre knows he has nothing to play for, but he just loves to play on Sundays. As for the fans, I think Viking fans are thrilled to have Favre on their team.

While its not the only reason it a big one for him.

    embarrasing...on several levels.

It says Favre feels he is above the team. He could have signed before and done training camp, but he wanted nothing of camp, something every NFL player dislikes but is obligated to attend. So he says he isnt ready to come back

According to articles, he has a tear in his rotary cuff. As far as I saw he continued to work out after his final retirement notice before camp started that he was staying retired. Clearly he didn't want his body to fail when being competitive or was not sure if he could play at the level he wanted to. I don't believe I read any facts of him wanting to skip camp because he dislikes it.

It says the Vikings feel every player on the team is below Brett. If I am a player on that team I am not too happy right now. What other things will he be let out of that they are forced to do. Sounds like Roger Clemens when he only wanted to pitch in home games.

According to the players in Glaziers report, they were in contact with Favre the whole time, players like Jared Allen had sent text messages to Favre, the players new also in that article Glazier wrote the feeling was that the players knew he was coming, but YOU or I didn't.

Ridiculous..another classic Brett Favre all about him, noone else matters moment. He is worse then TO, as I have said before

    .

Worse than T.O.? I don't know, I never remember seeing Favre make idiotic touchdown dances every time the guy throws a TD, and he has not been in the media for griping that he is not getting sufficient passes in his direction. I've seen the T.O. commentary on the local news as I live in Dallas for a long time. There is no comparison of T.O. to Favre. I don't see it.

I do agree with you on one thing and that is your signature! Thanks for the post!

It's not quite the same as TO in terms of flashiness and general tomfoolery, but in terms of being a selfish person, it may be close. Favre could've at least lightly participated in camp, been at team meetings, and generally been a part of the organization. I honestly hope (for the Vikings' players and fans sake) that it works out well. I won't hold my breath though.

Nothing is signed yet, so we'll wait and see what happens. I wonder what the current QBs will think if this does not go down. They seemed to have put that saga behind them, and now it's back again

eh I'l give him another 3 weeks before he wants to retire and then another 2 when he wants to come back. I'll never believe anything this guy says. Its gotten old, but its Brett Favre. Here is to more lame duck balls to hand that end the season for his team.

I'd aree with this statement. He has been more of a distraction for a team he wasn't even on then T.O. has been. Brett is always a distraction with his indecisions to play or not. I just hope the Packers knock him around.

I don't think he's *worse* than TO, but he's certainly cut from the same cloth. Both are self-centered egomaniacs. They act out in different ways, but it all comes from the same place. For people preprogrammed to think 'TO = Bad, Favre = Good', it's tough to see the similarities.

To counter birthday boy's happiness, this is one of the worst days of my life. Eagles are my team, but living in WI, I really could only watch the Packers growing up. Some of my first memories were with Brett Favre slinging td passes to Brooks, Chmura, Jackson, Etc. and now he's a Viking. Sharper did it to the pack, as well as ryan longwell, now brett did it. I am going to go to the Pack vs. Viqueens game and punch every viking fan in the face. WHY GOD WHYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Official word (per rotoworld.com) is that Favre signs a TWO year deal, paying him roughly $20-24 million total.
