All this does in my opinion is doom the Vikings for a season of mediocrity. They'll win the same games they likely would have won without Favre, on the backs of Peterson and their defense only to fall short in the other games simply because at this stage in his career Favre is no better an option than Jackson or Rosenfels. It'll be back to the drawing board at QB for Minny come next April. Sad to say it, but Vick would have been a better plan than this. A complete waste of what I am sure is money based on his name rather than what his performance will end up being. I guarantee this was pre-determined all along by Favre to return to the game and it was just a means of sitting out camps and practices before the season begins. Veteran players still want to play, they just hate camp. Favre is just in a nice position to play teams as fools.

He didn't have it his last few years in Green Bay and he certainly did not help the Jets last year. Why would this year be any different?
And you are right. Favre will throw just as many INT's as TD's (22 of each) like he did last year and they'll finish around 9-7 just like last year.
Not hoping he is gonna do bad. Hate seeing a once great QB ***** himself out like he is. It is embarrassing.

Which is still about 12...adding Favre may add another win or 2 though IMO...Vikings have a pretty easy schedule this year, so it won't be hard to win games...aside from the Steelers in week 7, they could go undefeated through week 11...
Minnesota news is saying that Brad Childress initiated the contact on Monday, and Favre agreed to return after Childress asked if he'd change his mind.

most of the reasons are just personal opinions and have no basis.
they don't say squat about LT skipping training camp in the past.
what exactly does favre have to learn, that he should attend training camp?
note-with the vikings, favre won't have to win the game himself.
i think the packers coaches belong with a high school team. division c. :-)
oh yeah, the viking coaches are smarter.
i'm going to enjoy watching favre play one or two more seasons.
i'm also going to enjoy watching peterson run all over the packers.
does anybody think the vikings will "spank" the packers, and enjoy it?
to all that read this and think i should keep my opinions to myself. thats exactly what i think people should do with their opinions of favre.
LASTLY--WE NEVER MAKE MISNAKES.
Haha. Priceless...

I respect your opinion. We see it in two different lights. I have not viewed Favre as a "safe" QB for a few years. Where he was once capable of making something out of nothing and just forcing it in, he now presents defensive opportunities instead. When I watch him play I see a guy who thinks the way he did 10 years ago but is operating on a slightly less capable body. he may win you 2 extra games or he may cost you two. Does he make Minny a better team than without him? Marginally. Does he make them better beyong this year? No. In fact he sets your offense back as a result. Success is achieved through consistency, chemistry and all parts operating in a single scheme. He disrupts this coming in as a one year piece of the puzzle. I personally do not see Minny as a currently average to better QB away from a Super Bowl contender. I would bet money they will not be be undefeated 10 games in.
Just my opinion though. I like Favre and always have. It is not anti-Favre based sentiments.

Wow, that was alot of reading. Anybody remember back in the 90s when Favre gave the DX sign to the home fans at an away game. like this...

I wish I could remember who they were playing. I hope Favre looks up at Ted Thompson in the press box and throws him a couple after a TD. I know alittle childish but TT deserves it. How you gonna tell a HOF QB we don't want you anymore but we want to make sure you won't play for another NFC team. And don't tell me Favre retired and they had to move on. TT didn't want him from the second he took over at GM.
GO VIKES!
I can't believe I just said that
