    Ebay=Greedbay!

    I have reported numerous sellers over the course of 10+years on greedbay, and nothing ever gets done.

    They could care less about fakes, scams, ripoffs, etc. Its all about the mighty dollar with them.

    I am glad I got the heck off of there, and I hardly post anything anymore.

    They could care less about the sellers, and that is the #1 reason I left, along with their constant raising of fees, policy changes and all the other crap they throw in your face.

    I think it is rather funny now that they have lost a lot of big sellers (including me) and are scrambling to get them back. They even called me a few months back to ask how they can improve the site, what they can do to give us sellers a positive experience. Care to know what I told them when they made that statement?

    One thing that we can do is email a news media group. Like CNN, NBC, ABC, Fox and let them go after ebay. I know they may not do anything, but if enought people email them so there would some sort of intrest. Show them what you show us and see if they will do anything.

    Some one can star the emailing process and post here on who to email and so we can all follow and go from there. Also we can tell those guys that do get rip off on ebay to email them too.

    We should email CNN cause if they do go after ebay. It would be air over and over for a few days. More people will see what it's happening and what ebay is doing. And that's why things may change on ebay.

    That's just my little idea. Some one may have a better idea.

    I know if you email Upper Deck they are not going to do anything about it. And ebay will not too. But if you put the proff and the facts together, a news media group may go after it if there are a lot of intrest.

    Is anyone here familiar with the blog The Consumerist? www.consumerist.com? This might be something they'd take a look at, I don't know.

    Ebay is going to have to hire people in certain fields and hobbies so that they can learn just what the **** is going on in this hobby. They don't know the difference between and filler card and a hit.

    Ebay really can't do much about it. Like they said, they're not experts on EVERYTHING. Fake patches are a big issue in our card collecting world, but just a flea on the beast of a dog that is eBay. It is the card companies that should be dealing with this issue, after all, it's their product that's being tampered with. There needs to be a record (accessible to the public) in regards to the authentic patches produced by the card companies. If someone sold a fake patch at a flea market, you can't blame the people that run the flea market for it.

    CNN isn't going to go after it, the story isn't big enough, there isn't enough money involved. Ebay isn't going to hire people, they already don't care and are only interested in making money. Cards are just a small portion of their sales, so why would they hire specialized people to root out fake patch cards? Card companies don't care, and they aren't going to spend money to create and maintain a database when collectors still buy their product.

    The fact is that the only way to really do something about it, that would really get the card company to pay attention, is to stop buying product, and that will never happen.

    I posted this on Donruss' and Upper Deck's Facebook page, let's see what they say:

    Are you guys looking into doing anything to prevent people from altering 1 color jersey/patch cards and turning them into multi-colored fake patch cards??? It's getting pretty ridiculous if you guys haven't noticed!!!

    IMO, the problem is they have noticed and just don't care. Fake patches don't effect their sales of the product, so why should they? They already provide poor customer service for the most part, and don't really care about the collector one bit. Otherwise, many of the hobby issues we have would have been solved long ago.
