I love Philly as a city. What are other rappers from that city?

Drake songs are not your typical rap songs. Can't really describe it in words.... His music seems like the music you'd hear at parties. (Best way I can describe it.)

He's also from Houston... and dead.

But, I think I remember hearing about him molesting a little girl....

his career is dead, but he's not....he's currently serving 45 years for aggravated sexual assault of a child....he deserves to die tho

as far as philly rappers....black thought from the roots is one of my favorites from anywhere, and easily the best that's come out of philly

cassidy is one of the best battle rappers there is...his albums aren't usually great, but when he's just spitting verses on mixtapes, there's not too many better

jamal is another one of my favs that was with def squad, and had a real good solo album back in the 90's

vinny paz and jedi mind tricks are from philly....paz is raw....his energy & voice are unparalleled

beanie sigel & freeway, and several other artists that were signed to rocafella are from philly (peedi crakk, young gunz)

kurupt from the dogg pound (death row days) is from philly

    eve is from philly

    will smith is from philly

    Wiill Smith=Greatest Rapper Alive

Meek Millz from Philly is pretty nice. last I heard he was signed to TIs Grand Hustle.

Other than that Philly is trash. Everyone just wants to be a battle rapper except Free, Beans, and JMT.

I used to listen to SPM bac in the day but hes lame now. I used to think he didnt do it but also heard that even his own boys think he was a molester.

There has been alot of areas all through the US of where great rappers/groups came from but where do you think that the best spot would be:

West Coast (various areas like Compton, LA, etc)
East Coast (NYC, Brick City, Philly, etc)
    Dirty South

I know i could be missing alot of key areas but those are some
    off the dome ones.

Overall, including lyrics, beats, and all that...its definately the East Coast, mostly because of New York. There's so many timeless rappers outta NY that no one can ever match. I can't even think about naming them all right now. Don't forget about 2Pac when talking about East Coast, he grew up in New York and Baltimore and only went to Cali when he was like 20 or somewhere around there.

Back to Philly, Vinny Paz is one of the best rappers to ever spit. What he's done with Jedi Mind Tricks and AOTP (Army of the Pharaohs) is straight incredible.

Have any of you ever heard of Last Emporer or Too Poetic? If not, I strongly suggest that you check them out. Last Emporer is another Philly cat. They did a track together called "One Life" which is about Too Poetic recieving news that he would die soon, written soon after his diagnosis and expected time to live was given to him (actually happened). He actually lived two and a half years longer than the 4 months the doctors expected. Unfortunately Too Poetic is deceased now, but he and Last Emporer are two great artists. Although I haven't heard much of Too Poetic, he is raw on "One Life." I've heard a lot of Last Emporer and his philosophical, laid back flow with raps pertaining to everything you could imagine is like nothing else I've heard before. Unfortunately, they don't play artists like this on the RADIOOOOOO!
