Even if the buyer were to pawn it off as real, why should that reflect on the seller who stated it was custom made? Doesn't sound like a convincing argument as to why people should not sell items they advertise as custom just because someone else might not do the same.

It falls on people being accountable for doing their own research - if they fall for fakes/customs, its their own fault.

Its called debate. Has nothing to do with taking away from having your opinion.

Stating an opinion, but not wanting other people to comment on it as such, is selfish and counterproductive.

So does it make it right?

no it dosent, i believe the ones who are buying these are new to collecting and its sad when they find out that what they bought wasnt real. Kinda ruins the hobby for them before they even get started.
One thing about it that i dont understand is Whygo and ruin a card(especially a very valuable one) and make it worth less money, he wouldve gotten more for it without that patch on it, just my 2 cents

Here is the other thing, now someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe that these cards ever had any piece of authentic materials in them. I think this was just a base rc that the seller cut a window out and put the non-authentic shield in. That being said, if you are going to spend the money it would cost to buy a logo shield or tag patch, shouldn't you be doing a little research to make sure that the card might actually exsist? That always boggles my mind when I see a patch that is 100% fake because the card just doesn't exsist and people drop $100's on them without doing any research. It just crazy to me!

it only sold for 4.99, he probably will lose some money on it. Either way I don't see a problem with it seeing as how he disclosed that it was a custom.

I just don't think that anything that might lead to someone being ripped off is good for the hobby.

Amen, this is absolutely 100% correct. A few minutes spent searching around could easily prevent some buyers from being victimized by a fake patch.
