Why are you still trying to compare a punt return to a pass play, they're 2 COMPLETELY different situations. Stop making the comparison, it's invalid.

On a punt return, the returner is looking into the air for the ball and 99% of the time they're standing still. They're defenseless, that's why they have the halo rule, so they have a fair chance to catch the ball.

On a pass play, the receiver is going for the ball and there isn't a halo rule for them, they're not defenseless as long as they have the ball. That's why when you see a player outstretched for the ball and doesn't catch it, if he get's blasted, more than likely there will be a personal foul penalty called.

only one person here noticed that he hit him with his shoulder in the chest. yeah it was a dirty shot, no a fair catch wasnt called, and i was at the game and saw clifton afterwards and he seemed fine.

I was at the game....and we all saw it and everyone went nuts. As soon as it happened I felt the crowd lean in like we all wanted to jump out of the stands and beat the guys ***. Smith did walk right past where I was sitting and held his hand up saying he was ok.

I Dont Think The Hit Was That Bad And I Dont Think An Ejection Was Fair. If He Would Of Hit Him With His Helmet I Would Of Been Ok With It But He Clearly Hit Him With His Shoulders. Ive Seen Far Worse Over The Middle Hits And No Ejection. He Led With His Shoulders and Didnt Even Launch Himself

I hope you arent talking about the hit against a DEFENSELESS put returner in the Bucs game. There is a specific rule against hitting the punt returner before he has the ball. The hit alone warrants an ejection

Wesley should be suspended the whole year, without pay, and be fined $5 million.
