One of the first moves of the offseason came on June 23rd, just days before the 2009 NBA draft. The move is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, impacting move of the offseason. The San Antonio Spurs sent three players, including longtime Spur Bruce Bowen, to the Milwaukee Bucks for veteran star Richard Jefferson. By adding Jefferson, the Spurs add yet another great offensive threat to complement Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.

I almost stop reading once i saw this part.

Then i saw the Celtics pick........ i dont understand. Cavs have a better shot to win

Shocked that you picked the Celtics to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad they're over the hill and Garnett looks like trash so far. Can't wait to trash talk with you throughout the season!

Hey, I'm not being bias...looking at each team's depth, if everyone stays healthy, I think the Celtics have the best shot...they are the only team that sports a near-starting 5 on their bench. And over the hill?!? Look who's talking, Mr. "Shaq is my starting center". lol But yeah, I want to start trash talking too :-)

I almost stop reading once i saw this part.

How is that not the biggest impacting move? Spurs gave up Bowen for a 20 PPG scorer...that's better than what the Lakers, Cavs, Magic or Celtics did...

Then i saw the Celtics pick........ i dont understand. Cavs have a better shot to win

Like I said in reply to dirtywax, they have the deepest team in the league, and if they stay healthy, they have the best shot, and the best team from 1-12.

Shaq moving to the Cavs is a bigger impact. Who did they give up for Shaq? A guy who can score and make an impact without even touching the ball.

Spurs gave up their best defender for scoring? They dont need another scorer.

They dont have the deepest... That's the Lakers. Thats' why they won a championship last year.

If he plays like he did last season, I could understand your arguement a little more - but, if he plays like he did the previous two seasons, then I don't think so...he's 38...chances are that he's not going to last...but, even basing it off of last season, I still think RJ, McDyess and Blair is a bigger impact over Shaq, Parker and Powe...

Spurs gave up their best defender for scoring? They dont need another scorer.

They got McDyess, Ratliff and Blair for defense...they have a solid defensive team anyway...plus, Bowen is older...this move is for the longterm for them as well as the short term.
They dont have the deepest... That's the Lakers. Thats' why they won a championship last year.

That was last year. I'm talking now, and the Celtics do have the deepest team now. They didn't have Sheed of Marquis last year...they do now. Both of those guys are capable of starting on most teams in the league, as is Glen Davis, and a case could even be made for a few other Celtics on the bench.

So McDyess is younger than Bowen? Ratliff is garbage... Blair is a still and he's the 2nd coming of Glen Davis probably

That was last year and it's this year. We replaced Ariza with Artest. That's an upgrade right there. Sheed replaces Powe and Marquis replaces Starbury... Their bench isn't that great

The Lakers and Cavs are both deeper than the Celtics are....

How so? Lakers have Odom, Farmar, Shannon Brown, Walton and Vujacic...after that, it's not much...Cavs have Big Z, Moon, Parker and West...if JJ improves, I'd list him too...Celtics have Sheed, Marquis, House, T Allen, Glen Davis and Michael Sweetney (I forgot about him)...Celtics could make the case that they have a starting 5 on their bench (Sheed @ C, Davis @ PF, TA @ SF, Marquis @ SG, House @ PG)...the others can't say the same, can they?

So McDyess is younger than Bowen? Ratliff is garbage... Blair is a still and he's the 2nd coming of Glen Davis probably

Never said that about McDyess...but McDyess' contract is probably much better than Bowen's...if I remember correctly, Bowen had a couple more years left...McDyess is a one year deal. I agree with you about Blair though, but wouldn't that be "steal"? ;-)

That was last year and it's this year. We replaced Ariza with Artest. That's an upgrade right there. Sheed replaces Powe and Marquis replaces Starbury... Their bench isn't that great

But Artest doesn't make the Lakers alot better than with Ariza...Sheed replaces Powe? Ok, I'll give you that, but Sheed will score more...Marquis replaces Starbury? Seriously? Marquis scored upwards of 15 PPG last year...Starbury? 4 ppg maybe? That's a vast improvement...plus, they also added Shelden Williams...I don't know how you can say their bench isn't that great...

    Easily....

I'll take a Z, Hickson, Moon, Parker (or Delonte), Gibson starting 5 over a Sheed, Big Baby, Tony Allen, Daniels, Eddie House starting 5.

    ALL DAY.

You just named 5 bench players.... The NBA only allow 7 bench players

    Thanks for proving my point....

I never knew a team was amazing #1-12

Celtics have Sheed, Davis, House off the bench... That's all Daniels isn't anything special.
