I dont listen to Jay-Z, never really have. But if Im not mistaken, this seems to be somewhat 'modern' of rap actually. Best example is The Game, he does the same thing with NWA beats.
If am wrong someone correct me, I havent actually listened/bought rap in awhile now.

It really doesn't happen that much. There are some who do it but its never really that much. The Game does not use any NWA beats and he spits his own fire. I don't get how he is an example? And borrowing beats on things like mixtapes isn't a big deal, if that's what you're hinting at. That's the whole point of a mixtape.

This is awesome since pretty much no one comes out to Alaska. But now we got three 6, Ludacris is coming next month, oh and Barack Obama's coming Thursday too.

i do like jay-z but i think mostly all of this mainstream rap is bs. I liked it when it was more about the lyrics rather then hearin moster bass personally. But i do like alot of underground stuff with that said heres some songs that i like lol.
Cage is a great underground rapper... he had a really messed up childhood tho. Look him up sometime hes really talented tho heres one of his songs
