If you live in the midwest and can get Bell's beer I suggest you try it, it's unbelievable. Their Winter White Ale is my favorite seasonal beer. If you like IPA's I suggest you try Two Hearted and Hopslam. They are a little pricey but are both worth it! Founder's in Grand Rapids, Michigan is another good one. Their Centennial IPA is great.

Ahhhh...that explains it. It's been a few years since I've seen it.

Beer is most definitely an acquired taste...and some never acquire it. I will say your three if you have to are pretty good for mainstreamers.

And I hate to sound like a macho meathead, but amaretto is pretty wussy ...my wife used to love it! It does taste good, I actually like amaretto sours, but a little on the weak side. Which I guess that shouldn't be a bad thing...

I forgot to mention my Lebowski stand by...love a good caucasian!

agreed, margaritas and amaretto? no beer? oh no no no

    Sike.

I dont really drink beer but Heineken, Budweiser and Red Stripes are good i guess, but I'll drink almost any kind if its around. I mostly drink cognacs like Hennessy and Courvoisier but will settle with Crown Royale if its all the store sells. If I'm on a really tight budget I might get a bottle of E&J. I used to drink almost exclusively vodka and gin but cant stand the taste anymore. Only dark liquor for me now.

The same goes for myself (although I still like the taste). Throughout my college days I drank White Russians and Vodka & 7Up. Now my favorite has to be Alexander Keiths Pale Ale (brewed in Nova Scoatia) and Stella Artois.

Im putting my 2cents in on Magic hat #9 - Not Quite Pale Ale from the company of the same name, Magic Hat Brewery. Here is the description of it:

#9Not Quite Pale Ale A beer cloaked in secrecy. An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A sort of dry, crisp, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there's never been anything else quite like it.

I personally like it cause it soothes the taste buds after eating hot/spicy stuff. It has a low ABV of 4.6 but the flavor makes it a starter for the nite.
