    nash or kidd

when both their careers are done who will be considered the better player?

to me personally i would say nash by alot but i know there are alot of kidd supporters as well..

nash career assists and points 7,886 and 14,066 (two mvps, back to back)

kidd career assists and points 10,500 and 15,602

keep in mind kidd has played two more season than nash and also nash really didnt play much his first few seasons

Kidd hands down. Kidd is a great scorer, rebounder and assister, is a triple-double threat every time he steps on the court, and is a great defender. Nash is a great assister and great scorer and assister, but he doesn't have the rebounding capability, despite being only 1" shorter than Kidd, and he also doesn't play (much) defense. Add onto it that Kidd has a couple Olympic gold medals...neither have an NBA championship though. Nash is great, no doubt, but I think Kidd has had the overall better career.

Its not Nash's fault that Canada doesn't have 1/10th the team the USA is able to put together...(just saying)

Also, i disagree, Kidd isnt a great scorer, in fact he is average at best, he can't take a game over scoring like Nash can, both are about even with Assists, Nash has 2 MVPs which easily puts him over the top...

Having watched both for years, it's Kidd. Kidd doesn't have the firepower Nash does on offense, but his defense is light years beyond Steve's. Kidd should have won the MVP one of the years that Duncan took it. Just look at what the Nets did before and after him - not much..

To be fair the nucleus of that team left as Kidd left, I remember the "big three" of Kidd, Martin, & Jefferson, that was a pretty awesome trio

True. Kidd was the leader of that unit, though. Martin and Jefferson were great young players at the time, but Kidd had the veteran leadership to help them along. In fact, Martin has never been quite at the same level since he and Kidd were split.

Kidd is a great rebounder for a PG. Has more tirple doubles than Magic. I go with Kidd, but just barely. Nash did win the MVP twice though.

Nash is a much better scorer, and had the two best seasons of the two, which translated into 2 MVP's. I dont think you can just take those two years and declare him the better player... heres why I think iots Kidd- HANDS DOWN:

    All-Star Games: Kidd 7 Nash 4
    All-NBA 1st Team: Kidd 5 Nash 2
    All Defensive: Kidd 8 Nash 0.... 0...0
NBA Finals Appearances: Kidd 2 Nash 0...0...0

    Its not all about scoring.

Nash's specialty is offense. Just so happens we're absolutely smitten by offense. Stern even adapted the NBA's rules to accommodate. Kidd's game is simply more rounded and he's been solid his entire career.
